-3rd person perspective-

After finding out Stark wouldn't find the answers with the cameras being down recently Loki sighed and leaned back against his chair by his bookshelf scowling mindlessly at the invading thoughts.

But his attention was spiked when he heard a shuffling behind the chair he was seated on and he stood turning to find a small black bundle of fur behind where he was sitting. "when did you get here?" He asked absentmindedly at the small black fluff on the floor.

Her eyes slowly opened to look up at him and she simply blinked in response as he frowned and coffee ignoring her as he sat back down in his chair and leaned back reading the words on the page.

He jolted when something pressed against his leg and he glared down at the cat who sat on his light grey sock covered foot, kicking her off he folded his legs and continued. Though he found himself occasionally glancing over the top of the book to see what she was up to as she first cleaned her paws.

Then she glanced around and Idly walked over to the bookshelf peering up at it Loki watched to see what she would do. But he quickly hid behind his book again when the cat's eyes flickered over to him.

He bit his inner cheek in anger, why does it matter if I stare? its only a stupid animal!

Lowering his book he watched the small black cat turn and walk down the steps back to the bottom floor, hop up onto the nearest chair stumbling a little from the pink cast before flopping down and heaving a puff of air.

Sighing and leaning back he continued to read until the next person stepped in, that person being Clint, "Hey Sparrow you hungry?" He called and Loki glanced at him from above as he scooped up the meowing cat and took her over to the cupboards digging in them for food.

The small black cat crawled onto Clint's dark grey shirt only succeeding in slipping and letting out a yowl before she was plummeting toward the floor. Instinctively Loki's fingers forced magic from them and the cat froze in mid air, ranging and kicking her legs helplessly when Clint spun around.

He scooped her floating form before looking up at Loki who released the hold on the cat and turned away wordlessly, "Thanks!" Clint called, he still wasn't sure what to think of him after all the mind control business but he was thankful the cat hadn't tumbled to the floor and worsened her injury.

While Sparrow was simply stunned and a part of her wondered why he had stopped her fall because it would have been painful if she landed oddly again. She let out a meow at him even though he didn't respond she felt as though she should thank him.

She batted Clint's face and wriggled enough to have him put her on the floor gently, stumbling back up the steps she waltzed over to Loki tail up and sat at his feet. He peered down at her with interest and she meowed up at him and nudged her head into his dark grey sweatpants covered legs.

He only hummed and eventually bent over to pick the cat up under her arms and he held her a distance away as she stuck her little pink tongue out at him and he chuckled at the stupidity of it.

"You're welcome...I suppose" he grumbled before setting her on his lap and begrudgingly letting his hands roam the soft black fur on her head as she leaned into his palm. He continued the action and leaned back.

After a little while a soft purr rung out and the form on his lap was vibrating with eyes closed and a content look on the little cats face. He let a soft smile slip but it fell when a clearing of a throat caught him off guard and he whipped his head down to Clint who grinned up at him his hands on his hips.

"I suppose you can feed her then?"

Loki said nothing but looked away as Clints taunting laughter rung out "I'll take that as a yes"

-----

When Loki woke up again he found himself rather reclined in the comfy leather chair and settled up near his chin was a ball of black fur, huffing softly he scooped under her form which woke her as two yellow eyes peered back at him their noses inches from each other.

To his surprise she leaned forward and bumped them causing him to scoff and instantly sit up forgetting about being careful as she leaped off of his chest, the angle making her unbalanced.

She only let out a low whine when her cast made a dull thud on the floor and she shook her leg frustrated at it, while Loki grumbled

"stupid thing..." he rubbed his nose angrily as she looked up at him by his feet and then turned and wobbled off slipping a little from the bandages around her back leg and he resisted the urge to grin at how silly she looked.

Eventually, he had enough of the pace she was wobbling down the stairs at and scooped her up tucking her by his side as he took long strides until he reached the bottom leaving Sparrow a little frazzled as he lightly dumped her onto the nearest cushion and went to the attached kitchen/bar for food.

He rose a brow at the bright cereal boxes and pulled one out looking at it strangely his back to the cat on the couch. But he paused and every muscle in his body tensed when he heard a loud fizzing sound before silence.

Turning around pale gold particles floated and there sat a wide-eyed woman. The same woman that he had caught lying against him the other morning. Now that he saw her fully he noticed her white cardigan that looked a little grey with dirt, her foot now lacking its bandage as during the change of her forms it broke immediately from the size change.

Of course, now the joint throbbed painfully as it had nothing stabilizing it again.

The cereal box tumbled from his hands and hit the floor breaking the silence. The woman blinked back at him before glancing to the Elevator then back to the stunned god whose jaw had dropped and his brows had furrowed in confusion, a small black strand of hair fell over his forehead.

Within seconds another fizz sounded and in a glow of gold the woman shifted in only a moment's notice, revealing the small black cat again on the pillow who leaped off of the couch and ran/ tumbled a few times before making it into the elevators opening with a new sense of panic.

Snapping out of his surprise Loki took off toward it only to see the doors closing "Wait!" he cried as he ran toward the girl inside whose eyes were wide as she backed away before the silver reflection of himself engulfed his view.

He threw himself against the contraption when they sealed shut and hopelessly pounded on the door only to receive no response and a whirring sound from inside and he knew he was too late.

He looked back to the empty couch then to the closed elevator and leaned against the nearest wall raking his hands through his hair when a voice that sounded like an electronic version of Stark filled the room.

"Loki, you saw her too right? I'm not imagining things?"

He swallowed thickly before answering almost breathless

"yes"
