Tom

"So just like that you were given away, that's horrible." Tord exclaimed using his hands to gesture.

We were both sat on my bed. It wasn't the comfiest place to sit but having this handsome lad sitting next to me didn't even make me notice. Who could when the sun was shining through, in just the right way to highlight his features. we had been sat here for a while just talking about nonsense, with somehow the conversion switching to how I got here in the first place.

"The sad truth but I think of it in a positive light. My parents must have been snotty to have given me away, imagine if I was still with them." I shuddered at the thought.

"Then I guess it's a good thing?" Tord sounded so unsure it made me chuckle softy.

When that died down, we just sat smiling at each-other.  That was until rushed footsteps were heard before father appeared.

I think we all knew the problem as Tord gave me an apologetic look. "Until next time." He picked up my hand and kissed my knuckles.

"Oh, gentleman." He just smirked and backed up to the door. As soon as he was gone, I broke out into a fit of giggles. "Did you see that father! He kissed me!"

"On the knuckles may I add."

I held my hand in front of me, admiring the shape of my knuckles he just kissed. Sighing I looked back at father to see him smiling amusedly. "Seems like someone has an infatuation with a certain mayors son."

I blinked at father before getting up on my feet "I do not!"

He chuckled and rested a hand on my shoulder "it's alright Thomas."

I shook my head "no it's not. He's expected to find a wealthy woman who can create the perfect family. That can't be me, I mean have you seen me! Not only am I a boy!"

"The lord works in powerful ways. Remember that my child." He smiled once more before leaving.

I guess he has a point, father taught me god has a plan for everyone, this must be a part of it right!?

Being homosexual isn't really looked down upon as much nowadays. I mean I've seen a few walking by as people smiled. However could you imagine the son of the mayor being gay. I can but other may not.

It was frustrating to say the least but it is what it is.

Standing against the door leading to my balcony I couldn't help but notice the drawing I had made of said boy. It stood out against the other stacked pictures.

Picking it up, I smiled fondly. Maybe, just maybe something good will happen of this. Something good might actually happen in my life for once and that was something I'm going to hold onto.
