Tord
"But Dad!" I whined.

"No buts young man. You are going whether you like it or not. Now leave I have a town to run."

I stormed out of his office annoyed my Mayor dad was making me attend the church service where all the snobby other nobles attend.

Also I'm not really a religious person and didn't care all too much about the traditional Christian standards. My mum and dad on the other hand were very traditional.

I was actually one my way to The Cathedral as my oh so lovely dad decided to volunteer me to help out with the midday food service. I'm not complaining too much however it seems, I don't mind helping people. In fact i love it. Just sometimes my dad puts me up to things with me knowing last minute. It gets annoying.

So here I was walking towards the cathedral as beggars sat to the side watching me intently. Almost too intimidated to talk to me. I did however give a few coins to the odd few but only when a guard wasn't guarding me intently.

"It's nice to see you here young Larason." I smiled walking up to the bishop, I took off my coat and placed it on the back of one of the pews.

"Nice to be here Father."

"So I heard you've volunteered for the Midday food service?" The bishop asked as we began walking further in.

"Right...yeah volunteered."

"That's great. I'm really glad you decided to do this good deed, my child. May god bless you." He paused and turned around to me "sister Abby will help you get situated. If you will follow her."

I glanced to where he pointed and sure enough, a nun stood waiting patiently.

I thanked Father and began making my way over to the nun. However before I could fully greet her I remembered my coat. I put a finger up to the nun who just gave me a soft smile.

Quickly walking towards that pew I noticed something I didn't before. A boy slowly walked down the centre of the pews. I couldn't really see anything besides his spiky hair. "Hello?"

I called out making the boy freeze in place and tense up. "Excuse me?"

Spontaneously, he quickly ran.

"wait a minute!" I ran to where he was. Stopping when I saw the rope going across the stairs, what looked to be a strict note of no trespassing.

I respected the note, cause y'know there always a reason behind them, and stood looking up.

The boy peered over and my breath hitched at his eyes. They were black voids, very unusual and very very beautiful. They were mesmerising meaning I couldn't look away.

"Young Larason?" The bishops voice called and only then did I look away as he began asking me some questions about what happened.

I barely responded as I looked up again only to see the boy gone. Disappointment filled me as I was asked to go back to Sister Abby.

The Midday Food service was how you expect a bunch of beggars to attend to free food. It was nice seeing their genuine happy faces. It made me smile as I spoke and listened to their opinions.

When it was time to leave, the guards surrounded me once again.

As if sensing someone staring I looked up and surely enough I caught a figure quickly back away from the balcony.

Well my trips to the cathedral are going to be fun. I smiled and carried on walking.
