Tord
I watched in horror as two men carried Toms unconscious body out of the cathedral and into a waiting cage."TOM!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. Catching the attention of the onlookers as I ran towards them.
The men boarded their carriage and I made my way in front of it before they could start moving.
"Get out the way kid." One said in a gruff voice.
"Release my friend." I demanded.
"You're funny kid. Move out of the way before we run you over." They both held angry expressions.
"My father is the Mayor, I doubt he would be very happy if he heard you speaking to me like that." I lied. He wouldn't care either way. In fact it'd be me that got told off for being so "stupid" and "reckless" The carriage started to move as if daring me to stay "if you take him. Take me too."
They both looked at eachother before shrugging and opening the cage to let me in. As I got in i rushed to Tom who was currently lying on his side, his face on full view to the world.
In this situation, I knew Tom would want his face hidden so I pulled his body over my lap and hid his face towards me. Stroking his head lightly I hid my face into his hair to block out the faces that watched.
We arrived at the Asylum they were going to keep Tom at. As they came to take us out, I refused to leave his side. Being who I am allowed me to go into the room with him.
I sat silently beside Tom, who was still fully passed out, waiting for my father who no doubt had been informed of my whereabouts.
Urgent footsteps heard down the hall confirmed that. They stopped at my door and a a moment later my fathers angry face appeared.
"What is your problem boy!? What is with this silliness? Come now!"
I still sat as he yelled at me refusing to move. "I'm not leaving him."
My fathers whole face turned red as he ran a hand down it, "Tord I raised you better than this. What do you mean you're not leaving with him? The freak!?"
"He's not a freak! I love him!" I cried out. I couldn't take it.
"Nonsense. Come now, you have ten seconds before you're dragged out."
"Please father let Tom come with us. He's not a danger. He's not insane. He shouldn't be here." Tears we're now pouring down my face. I couldn't help them though even though I hated crying in front of my father.
He sighed irritably but eventually nodded. "If I let him go, he will go back up the cathedral and I don't want you seeing him ever again. And to make sure you don't, you will move away to a boarding school."
"That's iso unfair!" I shot at him. Leave Tom?
"It's the only option I'm allowing. Don't worry I will make sure he stays protected."
Tears were still pouring down my face as I looked back down to Tom who was shifting slightly, finally waking up. I rubbed my thumb along his cheek as he looked up to smile. "Okay then." I spoke back to my father.
Tom seemed to come about his surroundings as he shied away from everyone else in the room, burying his face into my shirt.
"We're gonna get you back to the cathedral." I whispered to him, to which he nodded. Then gestured he wanted to say something.
"Do you have anything to cover my eyes."
I shook my head and he looked defeated before an idea came into my head. "I can give you a back ride?"
He nodded and we both stood. Jumping on my back, I made my way down and out to the carriage my father had arrived in.
The ride was quick and once we were at the cathedral, my father made it known I had 10 minutes to say goodbye.
"What does he mean goodbye?" Tom asked as we made our way to his room. Not before stopping to bid Father a greeting.
"Oh uhm. In exchange to bring you back here instead of staying in the asylum, father said I wasn't allowed to see you anymore." The floor was very appealing apparently as my gaze was focused on them.
"But you'll come sneak here right? Like before?" His breathing became harsher as if he was having a panic attack.
"He's sending me away." I stood and walked over to him, taking him into my arms as he cried.
"You are the only good think in my life." I heard him whisper out.
"As were you." I whispered stroking his hair this time. I pulled away to look at him, pulling something out my pocket. "My mother gave me this just before she died." I put the chain around his neck.
Tom looked down in awe at the gold anchor. It held many meanings to me and my family. Like i said, my mother gave it to me just before she died. She told me to give it to the person I loved the most.
I repeated it to him and he just stared at me in awe before braking out into a giant smile. "You love me?" I nodded, being caught off guard as he lunged forward and placed his lips on my mine. After a second he quickly pulled away and smiled shyly "I love you too."
I replied by kissing him again. I maybe wasn't going to see him for a long while after this, so I wanted to make the most of the time I had left. Which only seemed to be a couple of seconds before I heard my name being called.
"I have to go." Tom's bright smile dropped and the solemn expression returned as he nodded. "Hey, we'll see eachother again. It's hard to live without the love of your life."
Lifting a hand to cup his cheek, we leaned in and kissed yet again.
I went to the door and looked back once more.
"Bye Tom."
"Bye Tord."
