Part 1: Sage // Chapter Seventeen [Unedited]

I spent the next week in bed, Fi had a pretty close eye on me and got violent if I tried to get up. Zac would bring me meals and tell me what was going on lately. Khan has tried more than once to get into the house, either to talk to me or Tony, Tony just sends him away. Max is also confined to his bed and Alex was being restricted by Fi from using his right arm. Things got quiet at night, once everyone was settled it was like the house was abandoned. It was the only time Fi wasn't in my room watching my every move, but once I knew she was in her room, tonight I got up and out of my bed. I was careful not to wake up Zac, who slept on my bed with me. My footsteps were as light as possible, my leg felt oddly fine, when I added pressure to it, but it was still very sore. I snuck into Max's room.

Max was a wake with a candle lite by his bed, he was sitting up and reading a book. He looked up at me when I walked in. "What are you doing walking around?" He asked me.

"Got lonely." I stated, he moved over.

"Well come lay down, so Fi doesn't kill you." He said to me. I walked over to his bed and laid down next to him. "The blood at the facility is yours." He added, and put the book down on his night stand.

"Yeah it is, Alex fill you in?" I asked.

"Yep." He stated. He rolled on he was on his side facing me. I don't know what it is about Max, but there was something that drew me to him, maybe it was how a like our pasts are, well as far as he knows right now, I still haven't told anyone about what Julius said to me before he died. Max was the only one that I wanted to tell. There was obvious physical attraction between us. I mean come on, Max was 6'1 and in pretty good shape, he had brown hair and grey eyes, soft features. "I don't mean to step over boundaries, but I am not the only person who feels this right." He whispered in my ear. I turned on to my side to face him.

"No. You're not." I placed my hand on his face. We were both in pain and we just laid there like that for a while, he started to lean into me, I pushed him back. "Maybe we shouldn't, think of everything going on around us." I stated, he pulled back from me, and looked like he was thinking about it.

"Fuck it." He said and pulled my face to his, I didn't push him away I accepted it, the kiss was long and warm, it felt right, like that's where the spark me and Khan were missing had gone. Once that kissed ended and little breath later, there was another one and another one. I pushed him over on his back and straddled his waist, I leaned in and kissed him again. Maybe it was the candle light or the cold, but I couldn't get my hands off of him and neither could he.

"Where the fuck is she?" We heard Fi scream, this morning, me and Max shot up awake, the sheets covering both of us, but that was all that was on us. "Oh, shit the warden's doing bed check." Max laughed. I pulled the sheet with me as I got out of the bed and started picking up my clothes off the floor.

"That's not funny." I said back to him, I grabbed my bra off the floor, right as Fi barged into the room, she looked at me, then Max who was laying on the bed with his hands behind his head, then back at me.

"Morning Fi." Max said sweetly and smiled at her, then we heard footsteps coming down the hallway.

"Fi what's going on?" It was Tony, he peered into the room and saw what was going on. "Fi shut the door." He said and took her hand and pulled the door shut.

"Well that was funny." Max laughed, turned to face me.

"Oh really you think so." I huffed, and continued to search for my pajama pants.

"Oh come on." Max said and grabbed my arm. "Come back to bed. It's the crack of dawn and it's cold." He said wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me closer to him.

"So I need to talk to you about somethings." I told Max, now curled up against him.

"Like what?" He asked and tightened his arms around me.

"I am not really that type of girl to have hookups, I..." I started and he cut me off.

"Don't worry, this is real, I have feelings for you too." He let go of me with one arm and caressed my face. Then kissed me and pulled me back into him.
