When it was still dark out when someone knocked at my door. I was worried something had changed with Zac. I checked the clock it was 6:39, I got out of the bed and looked out the peephole, it was Julius. I opened the door a crack, I didn't have any pajamas for the night so I slept in my underwear, I was wrapped in my sheet though. "Yes." I said.
"Miss, I am sorry for waking you, but I brought you some clothes from the donation room." He said sweetly, I cracked the door more and he handed me the clothes and tossed a pair of boots into through the crack. "And Miss, the doctor called, he wants us to go back to the facility, so he can go over the results of the blood test with you." He added.
"Okay, when do you want to leave?" I asked Julius, the door was still cracked.
"As soon as you are ready." He said. "I am going to make us a nice breakfast while you are getting dressed, meet me by the fire." He told me and started to walk away from the door.
I shut the door. The room looked like your pretty standard hotel room, it deffinitally had everything that a standard hotel room had, including stationary. Which I walked over to and grabbed, I quickly wrote a note for Zac, telling her where I was going and how I didn't know how long I was going to be. I then took the clothes that Julius brought to me into the bathroom that comes off of the room. I set them on the counter that the sink was built into, there was a bag in the bathroom, that I had saw last night, I picked it up. It was full of toiletries, so a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner. I saw all of that and grabbed my hair and smelt it, yeah I was going to shower.
My shower was quick to be over, the water was cold, but I didn't even flinch when it touched my skin. I was confused about that, I have never liked cold showers, but the feeling of the water kind of hypnotised me, so I quickly forgot about it. I got out of the shower and put the new clothes on. It was just a plain grey jeans, and blue knit top, there was also thick socks, which were nice. I finished getting dress and brushed my teeth, then walked into the room and put the boots on, I grabbed the driver's jacket from the chair next to me and through it over on. Hopefully I can find the driver while I am there and give him his jacket back. I went to leave the room, then I realized something strange, all of the clothes I was wearing fit perfectly, well except for the jacket that was really oversized on me. How did Julius know my size? I still left the room, but first I shoved the note I wrote underneath the door just enough so that she could see it and get to it, I then made my was down the hall into the big room, where Julius was sitting by the fire, just like he said he would.
He wasn't alone, the man named Alex, from the other day was sitting there with him, they were arguing, but the second I walked into the big room, a hush came over the room. Julius looked at me and smiled, then looked back to Alex. "I am sorry for your troubles Alex, but you made your decision and I would prefer if you would leave." Julius told Alex, I was standing next to them at this point. I could see the fire in Alex's eyes, he wasn't done with this conversation, but he looked down like he thought of something and looked backup at Julius.
"This isn't over Julius." Alex told him, and walked out of the cabin.
"I am sorry that you had to see that." Julius said to me. "Now come. Sit. Eat. Then we will leave." He told me, I sat across from him and ate the food that he set out for me.
"Julius?" I said.
"Yes Miss." He responded looking up from the book that he was reading.
"Thank you for helping." I said.
"It's no problem dear. I just don't want you ending up like every other kid out here, who doesn't have anywhere to go so they join one of those gangs thinking that they will take care of them." He grabbed my hand held it while he told me this. "Now let's go." He said and stood up. I followed him as we walked out the door and out to the truck.
