Chapter twenty four

Nilsa's POV

I slept like a baby last night and you know something, I was surprised because of the thoughts that were running through my head. I didnt think I would get any sleep at all. I feel like such an idiot because of what happened. I dont bother to do anything today, well that was the plan anyway, until Jungkook rang and asked me into work.

I couldnt wait to see him, to speak to him. I found myself drawn to him for some reason. All doors were locked. Seokjin's car was there, well a car that looked like Seokjin's, I noticed it out back, by the bins. I guess I'm going to see both of them together today, for the first ever time? Weird

I lift out my keys and unlock the main entrance. I walk inside and spot Taehyung right away "I'm sorry my bloody alarm didnt go off this morning" I say apologetically as I ran to hang my coat up in the staff room

"Chill its ok. Jungkook called us in for a bit of staff training on the new menus"

"New menus. Oh cool"

Taehyung and I are good friends now. He understands me, he understands my lateness, because not everyone can be on time. Thats what I like about him.

I smile, totally thankful that I work with nice people, unlike my last job. My last dickhead boss, Calum was an utter asshole. He would have said "Three quarters of an hour late. This is not acceptable."

"So where is boss man?" I say wiping my hands before cutting up some strawberries

"He's out back on the phone I think"

I nod

He looks at me "You ok?"

"Fine"

"You sure?"

I nod

"You 100% sure, you seem like you dont want to be here?"

"I mean, I am thankful for this job, but I'd rather be anywhere else right now"

He laughs "Dont we all"

"How did you get in btw?" I ask

"Back entrance"

I nod

"I'm going to go find Jungkook, I have to talk to him" I say

Taehyung nods and I head out back to find him. I notice a black door right away, which was locked. I hear two voices though. It got me thinking back to Seokjin's car outside. I wonder if Seokjin is in there. I wonder if he's telling Jungkook about last night? I know they're not exactly close, but that doesn't mean they wouldn't discuss me. I mean, they very much have me in common! Even more so after recent events.

I feel a little sick, thinking about it. I go to head back inside but the big black door opens and Jungkook walks out. He doesnt see me though as he locks the door behind him. He's also on the phone, which he tucks against his shoulder as he sets the deadbolt.

Where's Seokjin then? Omg has he locked him inside.

I can't help but overhear his end of the conversation.

"Ellie,  baby. I told you I had meetings all weekend- I cant come to Canada--"

He stops dead when he turns and sees me standing at the edge of the door. I'm sure my mouth is hanging open and I probably look every bit as confused as I feel.

One question is running on a loop through my mind. Why is Jungkook talking to Ellie that way?

We stare at each other which feels like a super long time

Finally, without taking his eyes off mine, he addresses her.

"I've gotta go. I'll call you later." And he hangs up.
