I sat back down on Harry's lap, looking into his amazing eyes.
"Your eyes are actually so special." I said, soon regretting it.
"And what made you think that?"
"Because, this is the first time I've actually looked at them long enough for me to realise." I lied.
My phone buzzed in my pocket, I took out my phone to see and text from Jake.
Jake:
Hey, come over? Xx
Me:
Sure. J xx
"Harry, I'm going to go see Jake. I'll be back in like an hour or two."
He nodded and I stood up hugging Harry and walking out the door. I hadn't seen Jake in a while; we've only really just been texting. It's been a week or so, so I was really keen on seeing him again.

I walked up to his doorstep, and knocked on the door.
"Jakey!" I squealed when he opened the door.
"Hey Jessie!" He replied.
He walked me in and sat me down on the couch, placing his hand on my knee.
"Jess... I don't know how to tell you this..."
I paused for a moment; the sadness in his eyes took over me. This couldn't be good.
"I can't live anymore..."
The words cut through me like 1 million knives stabbing into my stomach, what did he mean, he couldn't live anymore.
"Jake, what, what do you mean?"
"Jess. I'm...Dying."
"WHAT?! NO! YOU'RE LYING!" I practically screamed in his face.
I couldn't let him go, why would he leave? He was perfect, amazing, and beautiful.
"Jess, I've been fighting cancer for a year and a half now. I've been at the doctors a lot lately, he said I have 1 week to live without Chemo, there's no point going through chemo every month to stay alive. Seriously, look at me. I live alone, I have no parents, and I have no one who cares but you"
"No Jake, you can't leave me."
"Jess, I won't leave you, I will be watching you forever."
I started crying.
"I'm not leaving you." I protested, taking his hand and squeezing it slightly.
"I love you Jess. I really do, you are amazing. I just need some food. I'll be back."
He smiled at me and got up walking towards the kitchen.
5 minutes later, something started to get suspicious, there was no sound.
"Jake?" I called out, no answer.
I walked into the kitchen, to find him; Jake. No breathing, moving, nothing.
"Jake?" I whispered softly, now balling my eyes out. "I thought you had a week left."
There was still no pulse, anywhere I could check for some sign of life, there was none. I got out my phone and called 000 (911). They soon arrived and sat me down on the couch, looking at Jake, attaching him up to some cords that led to a monitor. There was a green line and a long wave of silence. Jake, my best friend, was gone. The paramedic got up and looked at me, trying to make me happy. She knew it wouldn't work though.
"I'm sorry for your loss; do you have an address that we could take you to?"
"Uhh, y-yes"
I told them the address of Harry's flat with the boys.
When we arrived at the flat, the paramedic left me and went back to take Jake to wherever he needed to go. I didn't want to know at the moment, it was too much for me anyway.
I knocked on the door, eyes red and puffy. The door opened to a shocked Liam standing there.
"Jess? What the hell happened?" He asked, rather quickly.
"J-Jake, he-he's....Dead."
His jaw dropped, speechless. His eyes were filled with worry, and sadness.
"Oh my, Jess, come in."
I followed him and ran to the spare room, I just wanted peace. To pray and somehow connect with Jake. I slammed the door shut, jumping on the bed crying into the pillow. He was really gone, cancer took is life. I got out a black marker, and wrote NGU <3 on my wrist. Never give up.
