Happy Birthday

I finally arrived at my parent’s house; hardly anyone was there yet because I was early. I knocked on the door to be greeted by my dad holding a smiling Gabby. She wrapped her arms around me and I took her off my dad. I hugged my dad with my spare arm we made our way to the backyard where all the tables, chairs, food and drinks were set up.

“Hey mum!” I yelled, noticing she was pouring the drinks.

I slowly walked over towards her and gave her a light hug so she could continue with the drinks. She smiled and continued pouring.

“You wanna go to the sand box Gabz?” I asked Gabby while kissing her cheek.

“Is Harry going to be here, Jessie?”

I smiled; I swear if Gabby was older they would make a perfect couple. That may sound a bit creepy, but she knows everything about Harry already and Harry knows everything about Gabby. Perfect.

“Yeah, he’s coming soon.”

“YAY!” she screamed.

I laughed at her and walked towards the sand box that was set up in the backyard, I wasn’t looking forward to the party that much. One, because Abi is going to be here, and two, because there are going to be heaps of little kids running around with balloon swords and glitter.

I sat on the edge of the sand box, watching Gabby build a sandcastle when my phone buzzed.

From Harry:

Hey, are you already at the party. The boys and I just finished getting dressed. If you aren’t already there I could give you a ride.

My reply:

Oh, I thought you guys ditched me:P But I’m already here, Gabby wants you to come, and in a few seconds I bet she will start complaining on how long it will be ‘till you get here.

Harry:

We’ll be there soon, tell Gabby I said Hi. J

I didn’t reply back because there was really no point to be honest. I was going to tell Gabby that Harry said hi, why wouldn’t I?

“Gabz, Harry said hi.” I smiled at her.

I could see a massive smile spread across her face and she started screaming “yay” This child is a weird one. I looked back towards the house to see a few people starting to come; I recognised my aunty and uncle, and all my grandparents that were still alive. Both of them were alive from my mum’s side, but my grandfather on my dad’s side had passed.

I picked up Gabby again and took her to go and say hi. She shared her hello’s, and they shared their happy birthdays. My grandmother took Gabby off me, while I made my way to the front, waiting for the boys.

I made my way out the front door and I accidently bumped into Abi. She acted all nice until her parents walked through the door, and then I finally saw her true colours. She slapped me across my face and I fell to the ground. God, she had sharp nails. I let my hand lightly slide across the fresh hand print on my face. What did I ever do to her?

“Abi! What did I ever do to you to make you hate me this much?!” I whispered, knowing that if I screamed someone would have come and Abi wouldn’t stop anyway. Right now, I wished my parent’s house didn’t have the high fence around it, so someone could see me.

“Shut up! You know why I hate you!”

I looked up at her; her eyes were filled with anger.

“No, Abi, I really don’t.”
