Beau

Ever since I picked Sawyer up for our date she seemed really nervous. SInce she told me about her assault and the truth about her dad, I’ve felt closer to her. She finally let someone in, me in. The simple fact that she trusted me enough to open up was amazing to me. I think that was the moment I realized I was in love with her. I’ve never felt like this, never even close. She makes me want to be better. I feel protective and in awe of her at times. This beautiful girl has been through so much. More than I had realized. Yet, she still keeps a smile on her face and manages to stay positive. I don’t deserve her, but I’ll spend every day trying too.

We take 251 Casper Mountain road to the Tower Hill Campground. We park there and start our hike. It’s a brisk late October morning. 38 degrees with a high of 65 is perfect hiking weather. I unload my truck and hand Sawyer her backpack.

“You’re sure you’re ready for this Babes?”

“It’s beautiful out here. I can’t wait to see the trail!”

    “Alright, let’s get going then.”

Sawyer’s long brown hair was in a high ponytail. She wore black leggings with a pink t-shirt and a black and pink matching jacket. Those pants would be the death of me. Her ass looked perfectly round and perky. She noticed me staring and fake coughed to get my attention.

“Like what you see?” She smirked.

“You chose those pants on purpose to tease me today didn’t you?”

“Maybe, or I wore them to give you a glimpse of what’s going to happen later.”

What did she mean. Was she really ready to take things further? And for her to be so forward. It’s hot, but totally out of character for Ms.Sawyer Thompson. Then again, she is always surprising me.

“Mmhmm. I like the sound of where this is going, but I’m not sure if what I’m thinking, is what you’re thinking.”

“Oh I think you’re right on the mark babe. Now hurry up or we will never get to the later part of our adventure.”

Sawyer winks at me. She takes off on a sprint and I chase after her, catching her just a few feet down the path. I kiss her hard. Then taking her hand in mine we really begin our journey up the mountain. We walked for about two hours or so before stopping to rehydrated and eat. Sawyer was mesmerized by the view, but for me I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. She turned catching me again looking at her.

“Beau, why are you looking at me when this site is so beautiful?!”

“Because, watching you be in awe is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.”

Sawyer’s face begins to turn red. I made her blush. I’m still very fond of the fact that I can still make her body respond in such ways.

“Come on Babes, we still have to hike back down if we want to make it in time for dinner.”

    “Dinner?”

“Yeah with my parents. The girls are spending the night at their friends houses. So it’ll just be David and my mom. My mom is making her famous beef tips.”

“Mmm. I haven’t had a home cooked meal that I haven’t had to prepare myself in a long time.” The excitement in her voice was adorable.

“Well we do have clean up duty after but, momma’s beef tips are worth it!”

“Is it sad that I’m this excited? I mean since my momma died I haven’t felt this good.”

“Oh Babes, I can’t pretend to know what you’ve been through. I just want to make your life better now that I can. Sawyer-”

“Wait! I need to tell you something.”

Her eyes fell to her feet. She started drawing small circles in the dirt with her shoe. Finally after what felt like an eternity she looked up. Her eyes searching mine.

“Beau, I don’t know how to say this so bare with me.”

I nod but stay silent wanting her to continue.

“You have been so kind, so patient, and so understanding. You’ve given me something that I never thought I’d have again. Trust in another human being. My whole life has been about loss and pain, until you. You make my life better. I look forward to my future now. I don’t see it as an escape anymore. You’ve reminded me of what happiness feels like. You’ve opened my eyes and my heart. I love you Beau Owen Whitmore, and I pray that you love me too.”

Tears stream down her face. My heart swelling with emotion. This girl, this wonderful amazing girl loves me too.

“Usually it’s the guy making the huge romantic speech telling the girl all the reasons he loves her. You kind of stole my idea Babes. I had this whole speech prepared on how I was going to tell you how you made me fall in love with you.”

I picked Sawyer up and kissed her. My tongue slide over her bottom lip signally the want for entry. Her tongue met mine are our mouths devoured each other. My heart felt like it might explode out of my chest. I wanted her so bad. But not here, not like this.

“Woah Babes, let’s get back for dinner and then finish this later. I have another surprise for you.”

“You’re too good to me.” She smiled that gorgeous ear to ear smile.

    “I love you Sawyer.”

    “I love you too Beau.”

With smiles spread across our faces, we hiked back down the mountain hand in hand.
