"Hey, wake up."

Eyes fluttered open, a bright light making Elio cover his face.

"Elio."

The boy sat up as he uncovered his face, to reveal truly nothing but a room somewhat familiar.

Ah, this was the room him and Oliver were able to spend a few days alone together.

Oliver.

He turned as Oliver sat on the edge of the bed, a simple smile over his face. "Hey baby."

Elio smiled in return as he reached for his hand, the other scooting closer in order to grab his hand. "Hey." He looked around, out the window, hoping to see the outside but instead, it was just an infinite sky and it's infinite plain. "How did we get here?"

Oliver shrugged as he raised Elio's hand and kissed it. "I'm just glad you are here with me."

Elio kept looking around, looking for an answer but there wasn't one at the moment. "Can we go outside?"

"If you want." The blond stood up and helped his boyfriend out the bed, intertwining their fingers as they opened the door and went outside.

The sky was blue, clouds all over but not enough to cover the sun's bright rays. The field was just grass plains— no hills, no caves, nothing.

Elio looked down at his bare feet, noticing his really comfortable clothes he didn't remember wearing. He looked at Oliver, who was too busy trying to find life other than them.

Life.

"Oli..." Elio turned to Oliver, who turned as well at the sound of his boyfriend's concerned tone. "I don't think this is real."

Oliver's eyes fell as he looked ahead, a thousand thoughts running along yet none making sense. "I only slightly remember what happened... It was all so quick."

"For you at least." Elio felt as though, maybe he should be sad. Maybe he should be pained. Or maybe mad. But instead, he felt relieved. "Im glad it was quick for you."

Oliver turned to Elio. "Were you in pain?"

Elio trued to think of the pain, but it only slightly came to him. "More emotional than physical really. I was too in shock." The boy turned to his partner and smiled. "I guess that doesn't matter now."

The blond smiled as he cradled Elio's face with care. "Together till the end."

"Quite literally."

The two looked in each other's eyes, looking for answers to so many questions that would be left unanswered. Because life nor death mattered, if they were together.

So instead of looking for answers, they kissed for what seemed the first time ever, even though that kiss would one of many spent in eternity together.
