Chapter 3 - Mom Knows Best
-Star-
I miss the fresh morning atmosphere of the house. Bumaba na ako after washing my face sa sarili kong banyo sa loob mismo ng kwarto ko and tied my hair into a bun. I acted as if I didn't notice him and went straight to the kitchen.
I saw my mom (Tita Yvies) wearing an apron, she's cooking breakfast at amoy na amoy ko ang paborito kong bacon pati na ang toasted bread na may butter, nagugutom tuloy ako. I backhugged Mommy Yvies and greeted her of how good my morning was not until I saw his face. She smiled and laugh a bit nakikiliti ko raw siya sa yakap ko.
"Your mom called last night looking for you but don't worry sinabihan ko na siyang dito ka natulog."
Mom usually don't call Mommy if not necessary but last night was really different when I’ve read her texts this morning. She said I need to go home before 9 am and fix myself, probably another blind date is set for me. She's been like this for about a month now.
Last time I meet a guy named JP, were the same age at anak siya ng isa sa mga business partners ni Mom. I don't like the guy itself and were only 15 mas gugustuhin ko pang mag-aral kaysa lumabas ng bahay. Then there masyado siyang talkative and his not entertaining at all because initially I don't like talkative guys. Okay lang sana kung tungkol sa academics pero puro naman tungkol sakanya na he dated someone whose like this and that before, it’s inappropriate to talk to someone like that behind their back and in a situation like this. Wala silang kaalam-alam binabad mouth sila behind their back.
I prefer talking to someone who read books and studies well not like him who took me everywhere. He even took me to one of our restaurant called La Esmeralda. He ordered a lot and pays with his credit card.
He doesn't have cash? Ako pa pinapili niya tapos lalaitin ako sa pananamit ko, paano ba naman kasi tiningnan niya ako mula ulo hanggang paa and remarked that he prefer me wearing a dress. As if nagsusuot ako ng ganon.
Parang engagement ring nayon o higit pa at sinabing "Ibigay mo yan sa Mommy mo, she'll be glad you bought it with your credit card."
I let her check JP's credit card. Hindi ako tumatanggap ng biling credit card and an expensive ring like that is too much.
