Thinking of the time you came over...
Your sweet aura rushed to my veins...
Lust you can call it...
Because I wouldn't call it love...
It was never a heart in our tongues to begin with...
But cocaine kept the demon alive in us...
...
I remember the time we laughed in the dark...
Only a cigarette spark would be enough for us...
Not even a candle was needed when we smiled...
...
Crossing bridges from the slums to California...
Watching the clouds wave goodbye for another time...
Tears they left;
Their colors were of the Northern Lights...
...
I remember,
When we even thought of sleeping on the same pillow...
How soft that dream would've been,
But the wings wouldn't allow us to fly that high...
Too much smoke covering our limits...
Limits that we choose to hide from the world...
...
I remember when we fell off the balcony...
And landed into the river...
The blood I saw from you...
A useless effort is what you whispered...
We became immortal...
That was our relationship...
It kept drowning while somehow staying alive...
...
These memories are like hybrids...
A mixture of the good and bad...
Morphing into the fantasy we wanted it to be...
How sweet would the drink taste then?
How sweet would it be now?
Our lesson as we leave...
Are under leaves that leave...
The trail in autumn while we continue to believe...
That we are at fault for the catastrophe we've caused to our own garden...
Adam and Eve...
