Stay with the Mad Hatter.
You didn't want to go with Matthias. You didn't trust him at all. Though the March Hare promised you answers and assistance, there was something so...so strange about him. Something frightening. And did he mean any of it? Truly? His dark eyes seemed to hold more secrets then they did hope and his smile seemed to be too sweet...
And the knife. He was still playing with the knife. You watched as the blade twirled and danced in his fingers, flashing dangerously. You watched it. You hated it. And you said no.
"I can't...I'll stay here."
And just like that he wasn't smiling any more.
His faced twisted into a terrifying image: eyes blazing, teeth bared, anger and resentment and fury painted upon his face. He looked suddenly like a wild animal, poised to attack and you were suddenly so scared of him.
"You always choose him!!" He screamed.
The knife was now pointed dangerously at the Mad Hatter, who looked at his friend with both shock and amusement on his face.
"Matty-"
"What's so special about HIM?!" the March Hare demanded, "WHY DO YOU ALWAYS CHOOSE HIM?!"
"P-please," you stuttered, "I'm sorry, I-"
"NO!"
Standing up, Matthias towered over you both in a picture of fire and fury. "NO! You're not getting away from me this time, Alice!"
And with that, he plunged the knife in the Mad Hatter's arm. A shrill, shocked screamed filled the air as the Hatter fell to his knees. His blood rained upon the ground his face a twisted figure of pain and shock and Matthias...
He smiled.
A big, wide smile stretched across his face as he looked down upon his friend, satisfied and smug he was.
"Not this time, Jervis." He hissed at him.
Reaching into his coat, the March Hare pulled out...another knife. A sharp, shining knife that he flipped and caught with such elegance and ease. In a flash, the Hare had taken hold of you...and pressed the knife ever so softly to your neck.
He smiled.
Would he hurt you? Or worse? You looked to the Mad Hatter, still on his knees and in pain and you wondered what the March Hare would do to you know.
You swallowed a scream.
The knife pressed coldly to your skin, it's sharp edge digging in as the smallest stream of blood fell from your neck.
"Now, Alice," he hissed, "come along."
Whirling you away from the terrifying scene, Matthias pushed you forward, the knife still pressed to your neck as he lead you away from the tea party. He was laughing, smiling, his hand holding the blade tight as he pulled you away.
"Bye bye, Hatter! Sorry for all the trouble I've caused!" He called over his shoulder, giggling a little as he bid his bleeding friend goodbye.
You hoped that the Mad Hatter would be all right but...you mostly hoped for yourself.
He was still angry, even though he was laughing gleefully, and his knife was still there...shining, shaking over so slightly in his cold hands, and covered in blood. Oh, God, what was this man going to do with you?!
Cut you?
Kill you?
"Alice!" He hissed, half in anger and half in glee. "Alice! This time, it's all going to go so much better. We'll win the game, darling! Won't that be wonderful!
"What...what game? Please, Matthias...I don't understand."
You has hoped that by being calm and quiet, you might calm the March Hare down. But you didn't. His gripe on the knife only tightened as he sighed, leading you quicker still. Where was he taking you? Would Hatter be okay? Your heart was going wild and you were shaking, praying for all of this to please, please be over.
Oh, what was going to happen to you!
"The game," Matthias stated, "began in your world, when you first started playing. It continues here in Wonderland which IS the game. Everyone has a role to play, including you, dear Alice, and a route to follow. You pick the route and play the game."
"But-"
"I don't know how you got from there to here nor how you will get from here back to there. No one does...well, not no one...still, Alice, I don't know much about it all, other then that we play the game. You, me, everyone! We all play!!"
Away you went with the March Hare, now mumbling to himself quietly. Bit and pieces you caught, but not much.
"Never picked me-"
"Last time-"
"That damn rabbit-"
"Last time-"
"Jervis, the cat, oh, everyone!"
"Last time!"
Last time, last time, last time...what had happened last time? What had happened to the last player of this horrible game? More importantly...what would happen this time? You weren't at all sure but...but you were afraid. So very, very afraid. Afraid of all of Wonderland, of Matthias, of his terrible knife, afraid of this horrible game...
Would he hurt you like he'd hurt the Hatter?
Would he kill you?
Oh, you didn't know! But he seemed so insistent upon playing the game...would you be forced to play?
As Matthias lead you into the darkness, your heart beat with fear and blood...blood dripped from your neck slowly, a red river trickling down your skin. The Hare grinned, his fingers smearing red across your skin so...so excitedly. You wondered just what playing the game would lead you to...and just how Matthias wanted to play it.
You are...Sour Alice! Matthias was very angry with your choice and he will be punishing you for it. Don't worry, though, Alice! You'll like it...won't you?
