are you gonna talk?

Keith's POV

I get out of the shower and sit on my bathroom floor. Water is getting everywhere but I couldn't care less. I get up and walk into my room and change then I pack my bag and throw it out my window then I hop out and grab it heading to the bus stop I sit and wait. It's been an hour and it finally comes and I get on. I look in my bag and i only have 50 bucks so i cant make it far. It's the last stop of the night and i get off heading into a gas station and go to the counter. "Um is there any job openings?" I ask and the cashier looks at me. "I mean we could use someone to stock the shelves but you wouldn't get paid much." I nod "that's ok I'll take it and I can start now." They bring me to the back and I put my bag down and grab a box then go and start stocking the shelves.

Adam's POV

"You slapped him!?" I yell at shiro. "I wasnt gonna let him keep talking back and talking awfully to you! So yes I slapped him!!" I cross my arms. "I cant believe you fucking slapped my kid wait let me refraze that OUR KID!!" we hear a knock on the door and I go to answer it. "We're not done with this conversation." I open the door to see Lance. "What do you want?" He smiles "I came to see Keith." I shake my head. "No he's grounded. YOU HEAR MY KEITH YOU'RE GROUNDED!!!" I yell. "What is it because of what I told you I'm sorry I didnt mean to start something." I shake my head. "No its fine he got himself into this mess so we're letting him stay in his room to burn off his temper." Lance nods and looks down. "Can I still text him?" I hold up Keith's phone. "No I took it from him when he was in the shower." He sighs. "Look I just think everyone needs a break from life right now so why dont you go home you can talk to Keith tomorrow." He nods and I close the door then I go over to shiro. "You need to go talk to him in the morning tell him you're sorry." "He needs to tell you sorry for what he said to you." I narrow my eyes. "Attentions speak louder than words and he didnt slap me so I'll have him apologize to me later now if you'll excuse my I'm going to bed and you're sleeping on the couch tonight." I walk up stairs and lay down in bed.

Keith's POV

The cashier starts asking me questions. "So what's your name? I'm Kyle." He asks. "I'm Keith." He nods. "Ok so Keith what made you run away?" I bit the inside of my cheek. "I got slapped by the one foster family I trusted..." he looks down. "Hey I'm sorry man I know how the foster system is it sucks... do you have a place to stay tonight?" He asks. "Um I was just gonna find a cheap motel or something... I cant really afford much I only have 50 bucks." He motions me to come over so I do. "Here's 100 bucks it wont get you far but itll get you a place to stay for the night without bed bugs." He hands it to me. "Thank you... like really thank you." He shakes his head. "Its fine so how long till you age out of the system?" I put up two fingers. "Only two years left." He nods and I go back to stocking shelves.

Time skip because pidgeon

Adam's POV

I get up and go to Keith's room and he's gone but so is his back pack so he probably left before we could get the chance to talk. I sigh and close his door I go down stairs and start making coffee. Once it's done I take a cup out to shiro. "Take this before I dump it on your head." He opens his eyes slowly and takes it I then go back into the kitchen where I continue to drink my coffee. Shiro comes out. "Thanks." "You're not welcome." I state and put my empty cup in the sink. "Come on you cant be mad at me forever here let me go apologize to him." I shake my head. "He must have already left to school his backpack is gone along with him so you'll have to wait." He sighs and trys to hug me but I turn away. "Adam babe please I'm sorry I am." I look at him and turn around and let him hug me. "There now let go." I push him off. Then I realize something. "Its Saturday!" My eyes widen. "Calm down he probably snuck over to Lance's." I calm down a little and call Lance.

"Hello?..."

"Is Keith over at your place?"

"I wish why?"

"Oh no reason um I gotta go."

I hang up "he's not at Lance's he ran away again probably you your dumb ass slapped him!!!" I say poking his chest hard. "And I have his phone so we cant track him he could be anywhere by now!!"

Keith's POV

I ended up staying at a some what nice motel. I got up and took a shower then got dressed. After I head to work and I head to the back and grab a box. And start stocking the shelves. Then Kyle comes in and gets behind the counter and lays his head down. "So Keith do you have a girlfriend?" I shake my head. "Good they're awful you give your life to them and they just take what little money you have and run." I nod "I have a boyfriend actually." He picks his head up and smirks. "Oh really?" He wiggles his eyebrows and I nod with a smile on my face. "Does he take your money and run?" I shake my head. "Its more like I'm the one always running  exept I dont steal any money I just run with what little money I have..." he nods. "So you're a runner. You run from your problems but I'm sure you have good reasons to I mean you've been passed around all your life ist hard to find someone you can trust." I nod. "See you get it everyone always tells me that I cant run from my problems but I've had to face my problems all my life so I thought I'd change it up and run from them." I get up and sit next to him behind the counter. "I've been in your same shoes kid. And just gonna tell you the truth it dosen't actually get better for a long time heck I'm 19 and out of the system but my life is still hell... but I guess we should trust what people say when the say it gets better." I nod and a customer walks in and grabs some snacks and alcohol. He checks out then leaves. "That there was ralf he's a crazy mother fucker for how much money he makes he lives in a shit hole in this shitty town. But hey we get food business from him especially when he throws mager partys." I think I'm gonna like it here.
