"EW! What are you doing?!" Winter was sat on Chirons chest, she licked his nose to wake him up.

Getting you out of bed...?

"You could of done that without licking my face."

Well, it's either that or I take a piss in your mouth. You choose.

"Yeah I think I'll take the licking...." Chiron stretched out his arms, he wiggled the fingers on his right hand, a small ball of ice formed in his palm. He clenched his fist and imagined the ball melting. "It's raining. Ugh." His hand became wet. He used liquid to rub his eyes, letting the cold shock open them quicker.

How'd you know that? You've not even looked outside.

"Well first of all, there's moisture in the air, which I just froze to do that, second of all, your fur is wet."

Winter looked down at the small puddle she left on her master. Good observation.

The nine tailed fox hopped off his bed, and sat next to the door.

"How'd you get in here in the first place? Last I checked you where downstairs."

The old man let me in after I went out for my morning hunt.

"How'd you tell him to do that? You can't speak to anyone else."

Actually I can, but only certain people. A few hours of scratching at your door was enough, that and he sent me up to wake you up for breakfast.

"You better not of done damage, last time you scratched something you cost me seven Tols I repair bills."

Nah nothing major. Anyways.

Winter padded over to the door, she left it slightly cracked open, she pushed her nose in the gap and bent her neck to open it.

Chiron stretched again, this time he managed to wake himself up enough to get to his feet. He found his tunic and pulled it on. He grabbed his trousers from the chair where he left them last night and dressed himself. Chiron grabbed his bag and headed out of the room.

"Morning." Greyson greeted his saviour.

"Good morning." Chiron sniffed at the air. The smell of freshly cooked pheasant hung around the old Inn.

"Good girl, that Fox of yours. Managed to bring me two fresh birds this morning."

"Sometimes she is, other times she's a pain in my left ass cheek."

Let me bite the right then, might as well balance it out. She hissed at him, when she was angry she made a physical noise as well.

Chiron laughed. "You'd like a mouth full of my ass wouldn't you?"

That unhygienic shithole? You can forget that.

Greyson guessed they where having some friendly banter and laughed along. Chiron took a seat, Greyson handed him a bowl with some pheasant breast in it.

"Do miss my old familiar." He sighed. "Anyways, where you off to?"

"Landfall. I have some business with an old friend in the Great Athenaeum."

"Ah, about half a days hike eastward then. Thought you'd be heading to the cenotaph."

"Not yet. We still have time before the inauguration. I have a few things to study before I'm ready for that."

"Understandable. Well, I guess you won't be staying much longer then."

Chiron finished up his meal, he threw some of the extras to his companion who devoured them quickly.
