His eyes shot open. "Praise Nature...I'm alive..." he was laying on a tattered bed. His bag was hanging from a hook hammered into the wall.
He took a few sharp breaths, being able to breath was a luxury he was not used to losing. He looked around the room, pretty basic layout, a bedside table with a small cake on it and a few book shelves. Guessing it was for him, he grabbed it and took a bite. "Hm. Lemon." He chewed on the snack. He wiggled his legs around, trying to wake them up. It took a few minutes before he was satisfied.
"Guess I better get up, then." Chiron had a nasty habit of speaking to himself, Winter was usually very annoyed with that and shouted at him but she was nowhere to be seen.
He struggled to his feet, almost falling but recovering pretty well. He opened the door. The room was located on a spiral stairwell. Looking round, there was a few more rooms located slightly above and below his current location.
Chiron used his magic and scanned for his familiar, if she was close by he could generally sense her. He felt her magical presence a few stories above him. Shutting the door behind him, he set off to go find his little buddy.
"Ah. He's awake."
Finally.
He stepped up the last few stairs. The old man who transported him wherever they were was sat at a table. A goat next to him. There was another person in the room who Chiron had never seen before.
A girl in her late teens or maybe early twenties, rather pretty, she had long red hair down to her waist, in places a few her hairs seemed to be burnt black, a Salamander was sat on top of her head. Her build was slender but curved, her robes hugged her closely but the thick fur coat she had on disguised that pretty well.
Are you going to stand there staring at her or are you going to introduce yourself? Winter said flatly. She dropped the small purse of coins at his feet, Chiron pocketed it.
Chiron scratched the nape of his neck. "Uh. Hello? I don't believe we've met before."
She flicked her hair away from her eyes, she had a serious case of baby face, small cute features that made her age difficult to place, she looked him up and down with her fiery red eyes.
"Indeed we haven't." She curtseyed. "My name is Analize Magilain. I have come to-"
"Wait wait wait."
It's rude to interrupt a lady.
"Shut it you." The girl scowled at Chiron. "Sorry, not you, yeah...her. You know. The fox." He covered for himself awkwardly. She seemed satisfied.
"The fox has a name you know, Winter." Her body language was that of irritation. "You must be Nobhead."
Winter rolled on her back and started giggling. Even the little lizard on the girls head was slightly shuddering. The old man and the goat shared a semi-toothless smile with each other.
"Excuse me?! No! Where did you get that name from?!"
"Winter." She tilted her head, a slight confused look on her face.
Chiron sighed. "Of course. Names Chiron. Don't have a surname."
"How obscure." She nodded, a little smile now he'd introduced himself.
"Yeah, back home we don't have surnames, there isn't-anyways back on track- Magilain?! As in THE Magilain? The same Magilain as Queen Lysera?"
How very observant.
Chiron shot Winter a glare.
"The very same. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I am sure we will both obtain the answers we're after."
