The moon shone bright, it's light piercing the clouds, enough seeping through to navigate but not enough to see more than twenty feet in front of you.
Landfall glowed slightly, distinguishing itself from the mountainous surroundings.
"Finally..." Analize yawned. "My legs are about to fall off...."
Covered the distance quicker than I imagined. Blaze was riding on her shoulder.
"How far have we actually traveled?"
I'd say roughly seventy eight miles. Give or take.
Analize rubbed her eyes. "To far...I just want rest...."
Understandable. We should enter the city and find an inn.
She agreed and walked the extra few hundred meters.
"Hello...?" She asked. In front of her was a large green divot in the stone wall.
"The gate is closed at night. We cannot permit access."
"What...?" She looked around, attempting to trace the voice.
"Above."
She looked up. There was a guard holding a torch in one hand.
She yawned again. "Please sir, I have had a long journey. I only require a bed."
"No access at night."
"Oh come on. Please?" She begged. She was getting fed up and her eyelids grew heavy.
"No access at night." He walked off, the red glow fading off into the black.
Analize sat down where she was. "So now what?"
I suppose the best course of action would be to wait for morning.
"Seriously? All night?!"
Correct. Blaze hopped off her shoulder. I sense a touch of mana.
"What?" She snapped. Being tired made Analize rather spiteful.
No need to stress, Child. Over there. He lifted his left leg, pointing at an inlet about thirty feet away. A slightly flicker of a lamp coming from a gap in the rocks.
Analize sighed, getting to her feet. "Just want to rest...hate walking..." She grumbled.
Blaze lead the way to the light. He walked up the wall onto the window sill.
"Wha ar ye?!" A strange voice came from inside the room.
Analize poked her head in to view.
"Hello...? I'm-"
"Ye gods! Two en two deh!" A large women stared back, rising from a chair inside the stone building.
"What are you even on about?" Analize seriously struggled to make sense of the "lady".
"A meg'!"
Meg...?
I think she means mage.
Analize scratched her head.
"Megik folk!"
"Um. Yes? How could you tell...?"
