Because I suck at giving people rewards on time, apparently.

"You- you didn't know? But I thought-" I start to say, but he starts talking over me.
"Of course not! I mean, we knew there were some things with your genetics that we won't be able to control, but we never thought you had another ability that we didn't give to you," mr. Forkle says.
I take a second to digest this news. How is this possible?
As if reading my thoughts mr. Forkle continues.
"I think this might've happen because of your parents.......... I think that one of them was working with that organization and manipulated your genetics. T-this new talent, how does it work?" He asks, bewildered.
"Um, well I have dreams. Except they're not dreams?" I say, as if I'm questioning it myself. How do I explain this? "Okay, well the stuff I dream isn't just stuff, it's actual problems or scenarios that will happen in the future. Like, when I dreamed about the women in the lab, and how there was actually a women in the lab. Does that help?" I ask, staring at mr. Forkle's confused face.
"Kind of.... But Sophie, I want you to know how sorry I am that all of this is happening. I had no idea........." He trailed off, staring into space. "Wait a minute...... If they did this......"
He turns to me, fear in his eyes. What is it? What is so terrifying?
"They know.." He looks horrified. "I need to make some calls" he holds his pathfinder up to the light, the normal blue crystal this time, and disappears, leaving me alone and confused.

I rush into my house, run up the stairs, and into my parents bedroom.
They're here. Thank god. Maybe Tam helped them.

"Sophie!" I turn around and see that Elwin's here. Along with Sandor. Great. Another big lecture.  "Thank god you're here! Come quick!" I hurry after them, wondering what had happened. I trip and fall on the stairs to my room. Luckily, Elwin turns around and catches me right before I'm about to fall. I smile at him, but it's quick to change into a frown, noting Elwin's expression.
"Seriously, what's wrong?" I ask, and he looks at me, seemingly afraid to tell me.
"Just come. You'll see," nervously,  I rush after him. Finally we get to my room.
No. No. No.
Nononononono.
Keefe's on my bed, face a sickly pale colour, and the rise and fall of his chest is barely visible.
Not now.
No.
Not now.
Why?
Why?
WHY?
I start to shiver, tears dripping down my face as I run to his side. I check his pulse. It's just barely noticeable.
He's breathing.
He's alive.
I look down and see his leg, fighting the urge to scream.
He can't be hurt.
He can't.
He's him, he's KEEFE!
"Don't die. Don't die. Don't die. " I murmur, claiming under the covers with him, slowly cuddling him, and I try to sleep. I try to calm down, but nothing works.
"Here," it's Elwin, holding the same elixir I used when Alden's mind broke.
"No" I don't have the right to be happy right now. Not when Keefe's hurt. The next thing Elwin tries to give me is a sedative, and I push that away too.
"Sophie," I turn my head, looking at Keefe. He spoke! "Sophie are you okay?" I smile, it's a sad smile.
"Yea," I murmur, whispering the next part only to him, "I'm so much better now that I'm with you. "
