Chapter 6- More new friends

Later

After the first two lessons of the day, which seemed to go by surprisingly quickly although that was probably because Virgil and Patton spent the whole time talking, the two sat down on an empty bench together outside at breaktime. It was quite noisy outside, more so than the two would have hoped for, but they had each other and that was all the two cared about. The sun shone brightly on the two, the sunny weather perfectly matching their bright moods. Despite knowing each other for years, they had only just formed a close bond but that bond was so strong and unbreakable; they could both tell that their friendship was going to last a while.

Whilst the two were busy talking, they didn't seem to notice two people approaching them. One of them was a fairly tall girl who could easily be in year 11. Her cheeks were littered in beautiful brown freckles that matched her light brown hair which rested perfectly on her shoulders. She had dark purple handbag on her left shoulder, its colour matching her eyes, with a black stuffed kitten poking out of it. In her right hand, she was holding the other person's hand, a short boy with scruffy blond hair and hazel brown eyes. Although looking completely different, they had one thing in common: a small smile on their face.

The girl soon cleared her throat, quickly catching Patton and Virgil's attentions. The two looked up curiously and Virgil's face lit up upon seeing her. He immediately leapt to his feet and engulfed her in a massive hug. She let out a small giggle and ruffled his hair.

"Hello Virge!" She smiled softly, kissing his forehead.

"Hey Kitty!" He beamed brightly, refusing to let go.

"Um who's this Virge?" Patton asked curiously. 

Virgil reluctantly pulled away from the hug, his bright smile refusing to leave his lips. "Pat, this is my sister Kitty. Kitty, this is my new friend Patton" Kitty waved at Patton, who waved back shyly.

"Hello Patton. This is Luis by the way" she gestured to the boy next to her. "He's in the same year as you two. I was forced to be his buddy. He's really nice though. Just a little quiet" Luis bit his lip and shuffled behind Kitty, hiding behind her. 

Patton and Virgil both giggled. "Well it's nice to meet the two of you" Patton beamed. "Would you like to sit with us? I mean it's just us two and we'd love the extra company"

"Sure. I don't see why not. I mean, we've got no where else to sit" Kitty shrugged, sitting down beside Virgil, Luis sitting down next to her and getting out a notepad and pen, ignoring everyone else.

"So, how are you getting on Virge? Has anyone been causing you any trouble? I don't need to kill anyone do I?" She joked, although Virgil knew that she really meant it.

"Well I haven't really met anyone else. Just Patton. And he's really nice. The kindest guy I've ever met" A light blush tinted Patton's cheeks as he listened to Virgil talking about him. "Ah that's good. Just be careful okay. I just don't want anyone hurting you. And trust me, there are a lot of horrible people in this school who could crush you in an instant"

Virgil chuckled lightly at her protectiveness. "Kitty, I'll be fine, I promise"

"I should probably stay with you just in case though. You never know"

"Okay okay if you want. It'll be nice to have extra company" He gave her a grateful smile as she kissed his forehead.

Whilst the two siblings were talking, Patton watched Luis curiously. He soon sat down next to him with a friendly smile. "Hey"

"Hi" Luis said with a quiet voice, refusing to take his eyes off of his notepad.

"I think I've seen you in my classes"

"Yeah I think I've seen you too" 

"Whatcha doing?" Patton asked curiously, shuffling closer to him and looking over his shoulder at his notepad.

"Oh just writing. I like writing" He finally looked up at Patton, giving him a friendly smile which Patton quickly returned

"Yeah me too. It's fun. It helps calm me down. Plus getting to create your own worlds and characters is just so exhilarating" He squealed excitedly, causing Luis to chuckle lightly.

"Oh I don't write stories. They're not my type of thing"

"Oh...what do you like writing then?"

"Poetry" Luis smiled, looking back at his notepad and continuing to write.

"Poetry huh? That's odd. I mean don't get me wrong, poetry is amazing. I've just never really heard of anyone who writes it"

"I guess I'm unique huh?" He giggled.

"Yeah I guess you are. But that's not a bad thing. Being normal is so boring" Luis nodded in agreement.

Just then, the bell rang and every one quickly stood to their feet.

"I guess I'll see you later Virge" Kitty smiled softly, kissing Virgil's forehead one last time before waving goodbye, walking off in the opposite direction. 

"Bye Kitty!" He called after her, waving her off. He then turned to the other two boys. "So, what lesson do we have next?"

"English" Luis replied with a small smile.

The three boys then head off to their next lesson with bright smiles on their faces.

I'd like to quickly thank 13_Kitty_Love and Storm_Alien for letting me use their OCs Kitty and Luis. I hope I portrayed them okay. I apologise if not.
