Thomas walked into class in his normal, nonchillant way. His bag slung on his shoulder in a relaxed yet somehow irresistable way.

At least thats how James saw it. But he chould never say that. Thomas was way out of his league, plus he didnt want to ruin their friendship. He always preferred to keep quiet.

Yet recently, Peggy had been giving him motivation. And maybe hed be outgoing...just this once.

So after taking a deep breath, he walked over to his attractive friend.

"Hey Thomas." He said quietly, his fingers fidgeting with the hem of his shirt.

"Sup James." He mumbled, flipping through the textbook and trying to understand last nights reading.

James wilted as the man fell silent, eyes focused on the book. Maybe he was busy, maybe this was a bad time. No, he should just go for it. But thatd be so awkard, and he should wait for the perfect moment. But if he waited someone else might talk to him-

James' mind was racing, and once again the man fell victim to his overthinking.

Before he could say what was on his mind, the bell toned and everyone rushed to sit down.

Thomas pulled out the chair next to him, motioning for his friend to sit.

James did so, silently putting down his bag and trying not to look at Thomas too much. He couldnt help it. The man was so damn attractive. He- he was magentic, perfect in every way. It made James' face flush and heart race.

Unknown to the smaller man, Thomas noticed all of this. It made him quite happy. The way James would get all worked up and flustered over him. He loved it. And he was just as interested in the man. In fact, Thomas was planning to ask him out of coffee after class. If all went well, they might have a few dates in their future. But he was getting ahead of himself, the man hadn't even asked yet.

So needless to say, when the end-of-class bell rung, Thomas was quite excited.

The virginian turned to face his friend, who had a certain look in his eye.

But before Thomas could make his move, a small brunette walked up. He moved with a certain confidence that grabbed the mans attention.

"Hey. Thomas, right? I've seen you around. Listen, call me." He said, handing the man a slip of paper. His hand grazed the mans shoulders as the walked off, making a shiver go through the Virginian's body.

After a moments pause, Thomas looked up to James with a confused expression.

"Go for it." James said quietly, cursing himself as he did.

Thomas was at a loss of words. Shit, he must be real bad at reading signs. But he supposed it wasnt a total loss, since someone was obviously interested in him.

After saying goodbye to his friend, Thomas began the wall towards his dorm.

As he walked he thought, and twisted the paper between his fingers.

Maybe it wouldnt be so bad to try out this new fling.

Yet oddly, he felt like he was cheating on James.

Why? They werent dating, and James clearly wasnt interested in him.

Not wanting to be indecisive anymore, Thomas stopped walking and pulled out his phone.

Me: Hey, its Thomas.

There, it was done. No need to make it a thing.

As Thomas walked into his dorm, he felt a vibration in his pocket and pulled out his phone.
