Maya's POV:

We arrived at the warehouse where they kept all the unsold pets. Father held the door open for me as I stepped out of the car and let me and Krystal lead the way inside. When we got in I was surprised to hear literally nothing, not even a pin drop. Every potential pet was absolutely silent as guards patrolled each row. I glanced into a few as we passed down through the third row to the owner's office. All 6 that I looked at had black hair, so I guess they were sectioned by features. 4 were female and 2 were male, the males being the most aggressive.

Not surprised. Females are easier to keep. Which is why I never wanted a male one.

"Mr Redd! Hello!" The owner said, coming out and shaking hands with Father. I broke off my conversation with Krystal for a few seconds to listen to what he was saying. He was explaining how well his business was doing after his "generous" donations and that all his customers have left happy. My father snapped at him to get on with it.

Some girl was dragged in and dropped in front of me. She had incredibly long black hair and large brown eyes, similar to Mom's. I frowned and bent down, grabbing her wrist and pulling her up. She wobbled and leaned heavily against me, clearly drugged to stay quiet and still. I glared at the Owner.

"Why did you drug her?" I snapped. I didn't like her holding onto me, so I let go and stepped back as she fell back onto the floor. Krystal giggled from beside me.

"Oh well um. Just a precaution in case she became difficult. I can get the antidote.."

"Do it" I demanded. Father stood there with a giant smile on his face, which faded when he didn't see the Owner move to obey me.

"I believe my daughter, the future CEO, asked you to do something. No, Ordered you to do something. So do it" He growled. I felt a rush of glee flow through me as I watched him dash over to his desk and immediately begin looking for something. He found a small syringe and approached me again, looking at me for permission to touch my new pet. I nodded and he bent down, pulling her to sit up slightly and injecting the needle.

The girl stiffened for a few seconds, then slowly seemed to return to normal. The first thing she did was struggle to get out of the Owner's grip. I reached down and grabbed her collar, yanking her up and delivering the hardest smack I could muster. She cried out and stopped trying to get away immediately.

"Bad Girl. Once we get home I'm teaching you some manners" I threatened. Her eyes went wide with fear and I smiled back, tying the leash to her collar. Pushing her to the floor, I handed off her leash to Krystal and went over to sign the papers and such.

20 minutes later I was officially a pet owner. The owner offered to give me the two other girls she was kidnapped with as a free gift and a lowered price or 350,000 but I declined. Having 1 was enough but 3? I could never.

We walked out to the car, me having to unfortunately drag the girl there. He told me her name was Kayla but I preferred to call her pet. She'd learn to respond to it soon. Right now she was crying and I was tired of hitting her to get her to obey. Once we got home I'd get the best shock collar and start really punishing her.

We got home and I got out of the car first, pulling Pet after me. She struggled and I had to hit her for the 6th time. When was she gonna learn? I got into the elevator and once it opened to the penthouse, I took her to the kitchen and grabbed a bowl, filling it with food and putting it in the microwave.

Ding!

"Here. Eat" I ordered, taking the bowl out and putting it on the floor. I kicked it over to Pet. She just looked at it and grimaced, shuffling back. At most she learned to almost properly kneel and not make eye contact with me. I had heard her stomach growl like crazy in the car and almost forgot that I had to actually feed her. Making regular food just for a pet seemed like a waste so I just used Mom's food.

Speaking of Mom.

She walked in and hugged me, a huge smile on her face. She didn't have her leash on anymore thankfully and there were no noticeable bruises. I returned the smile.

"Hey sweetheart. I heard from your father that you got a new pet. Congratulations! I see she's being a bit difficult though" She said, sitting down in a dining chair. Being on furniture was a huge no no for most pets, Mom included. So she only did it when alone with me. The girl moved the bowl away and spat the same nonsense that almost every pet ended up saying. "I'd rather starve than eat your crap".

I was happy to let her. I picked up the bowl and rinsed it out, putting it back on the rack. Mom recommended some new collar she heard that was coming out. Every collar had a tracking device and a Punishment Shock setting but every few months they would find a way to improve things and release a new line. I made a note to order one with same day shipping.

Me and Mom talked for a while until Step-Mom came in and kicked her out, threatening to hit her if she was caught talking out of turn again. I rolled my eyes and turned away as she disappeared, opening the fridge. Pet was playing around with her leash, or trying to take it off. I frowned and gave it a yank to make her stop.

Step-Mom began talking to me, but I mostly just nodded my head to whatever she was saying. Something about how she told all her friends about how happy she was that I got a new, 'floorlicker'. Listening to her was making me nauseous, so I grabbed Pet and went to my room, locking the door.

Back to work.

(Time Skip)

It was nearly 2am when I finished. Pet was asleep on the bed, so I got up went to change into my pajamas, then picked her up. She woke up from being dropped.

"Hey! What the hell! I'm trying to sleep!" She protested. I rolled my eyes and climbed into the bed.

"Pets get the floor. I'd make some room for you but you refuse to act correctly. So you get the floor. When you're good and don't give me attitude 24/7, maybe you'll sleep with me" I replied. She glared at me. I tied her leash to the bed post and went off to sleep.

Tomorrow, we're getting you trained. Immediately.
