Maya's POV:

The drive over was easier than I thought. She stayed relatively quiet and just stared out the window. Once we pulled up to Krystal's house she followed me inside to the elevator. Riding the way to the top I looked at my phone just as it chimed, showing 3 more emails. I groaned.

Working fucken sucks.

The elevator doors opened, revealing Krystal's chalk white penthouse. Her parents bought her this one to celebrate her new job at the company, and she picked the dullest color. Everyday every inch of the house had to be made spotless or she'd freak out.

"Krystal!" I called, walking out and pulling Kayla after me. She looked around, frowning.

"In here!" Krystal replied. I followed her voice and ended up in the living room. Krystal was sitting on the couch dressed in a pastel blue track suit and there was a girl on the floor in front of her. She had black hair similar to Kayla's and hazelnut eyes. She immediately set to glaring at me. I raised an eyebrow and sat down next to her.

"Hey. So this is your new pet?" I asked. She nodded and tightened her grip on the leash she was holding. I chuckled.

"This is Alyssa. I picked her up from the store because frankly, everyone's getting one nowadays so I thought I should get one too. Currently she's just a huge pain in my ass as said before, so I'm getting a private trainer" She explained. I smiled at that.

Me and Krystal went to the kitchen to talk, leaving both of them alone to talk. At first both were silent, looking everywhere but each other. But gradually they began to whisper quietly, introducing themselves. I found it cute how much Krystal's pet expressed her absolute hatred for her, while Kayla seemed terrified to talk bad about me. I grew bored watching them talk and tuned back into what Krystal was saying.

"Hey we should take them shopping. I don't have any other dresses for her but the one she's wearing. Maybe some new collars" She suggested. I just nodded and finished off my drink. Glancing back into the living room, I immediately stood up once I saw that neither of the girls were in the living room.

What the hell?!

"K. They're gone"

Krystal was already out of her chair and both of us raced into the living room. Krystal checked the other rooms while I went over to the window, looking out of it just in time to see both girls race down the street.

"You have got to be kidding me." I snarled. I ripped my phone from my pocket and began dialing, calling Krystal back into the room. Eventually I got connected to the police.

"Hello? Yes I'd like to report two runaway pets. Both have black hair, one has dark brown eyes and one has hazelnut eyes. They've ran down the street and seem to be heading towards the city. Get them and bring them to my house" I ordered, giving them all my details and address. The operator on the line assured me I'd have my pet back within the hour and I hung up. I was furious.

Refusing to be obedient is one thing, running away is a whole different story. I was going to make her life hell.

I drove us to my house, arguing over what we should do to them. We both agreed that we would punish them together though. I slammed the driver side door and stormed inside, Krystal tailing me.

Now back in my living room. I told Father what had happened and to my surprise, he blamed me for giving her the opportunity to run away. I was pissed and a bit hurt by that, but just brushed it off as him fearing of losing something he paid for. Krystal was fuming as well, her balled fists resting on her thighs.

We both looked up at the elevator doors opening. Two huge security guards walked in, dragging a blindfolded and struggling Kayla into the room. She was dropped onto the floor and let out a little cry of pain.
