Maya's POV:

"That's the last of them" A guard told me, holding out the clipboard for me to see. I waved it away and watched the last truck slam it's back doors shut and start up, driving away.

"How many were confirmed missing?" I asked. She glanced at the chart again.

"About of the 72 here? 31. At least four were scheduled for retirement." She answered. I nodded and turned to walk away.

"Uh, Miss Redd. What are you want done with the building?" She called after me. I paused, not turning around and instead looking over my shoulder.

"Burn it down for all I care.".

Krystal saw me approaching the car and flipped her laptop closed, moving over to the passenger seat.

"Everything Good now?" She asked. I shrugged and got in, slamming the door.

"I have some unfinished business still. It's high time I take over as CEO, tired of waiting" I said. I adjusted the mirror, catching a glimpse of Summer. She was still knocked out. I started the car and pulled out of the lot.

(Time Skip)

We arrived at the Penthouse. This time Krystal got out of the car with me and stood by the door. I opened the back door and helped Summer out. She was only half awake and stumbling. She kept mumbling something inaudible and clinging to me. Krystal held the door for us and we all went inside.

I pressed the button for the elevator and handed Summer off to her.

"Wait here. I need my bag." I said. She nodded and I raced back to my car, popping the trunk and rummaging through the duffel bags. I kept a couple of spare bags in my trunk but most of my things had been left back in the States.

I finally found what I was looking for. My gun. It was a sleek silver color and last time I checked fully loaded. I slammed my trunk closed and walked back inside, tucking the gun into my waistband. Krystal had the elevator already open. I took Summer from her with one hand and pressed the button with the other.

"Maya. What are you planning on doing?" She asked, gesturing to the gun. I didn't answer. The elevator dinged. Summer stirred. I gently picked her up and laid her on the couch.

"You're safe now. I'll be right back" I whispered. She gave a weak groan as I pulled away and walked down the hallway. Krystal wordlessly followed. I stopped at Father's office doors.

"You sure about this M?" She asked. I smirked.

"Yep".

I raised one boot and slammed it against the door, causing both to fling open and the glass to shatter. Father jumped at his desk and Misty scrambled to her feet.

"Maya! What the hell is going on?" He demanded. I pulled the gun out of my waistband and pointed it straight at him. The whole room seemed to freeze.

"Selena had my pet. Isn't that a nice surprise?" I snapped, stepping closer. Misty stood up to try and get in front of him but I shifted the gun to point at her just as Krystal stepped in front of her.

"I..Maya why don't we sit and.."

"But you knew that didn't you? You knew she had it and you just wanted me to 'get over' losing her huh. You didn't care." I continued. He was silent.

"So here's what's going to happen. Right here right now. With Krystal as witness. You give the CEO title to me. You may still work with me, but I will be in charge. Your reign is over. And if you deny, I shoot you dead.". He chuckled.

"Maya. You know if I die power is transferred to your Step Mother through my will. Which by the way, cannot be destroyed" He said. I bit my lip, growling.

"Actually. Mother's a criminal. She can't take over anymore. So that leaves, just me." I smirked and his eyes widened. He avoided my gaze then sighed, opening his drawer.

"Maya Redd. You are the new CEO" He grumbled, picking up the black and gold briefcase and sliding it over to me. I grabbed it and gave him a fake smile.

"My first order as CEO. Is to have her retired effective immediately." I said, pointing at Misty. Her eyes widened and my Father opened his mouth to protest. I ignored it all and turned in my heel, walking through the doors and back down the hall. I heard Krystal following me.

Summer was on the couch, sitting up. She got up and rushed over, grabbing me.

"Maya..Er..Mistress. What happened to the baby? Where is he?!" She pleaded. I frowned and pulled my arm out of her grip.

"I don't need a baby. Plus it's not mine so why keep it?" I said, letting go and walking past her to the elevator. Krystal started to follow but I held up a hand.

"Stay with her please" I asked. She nodded and grabbed Summer, who was sobbing on the floor.

"No! No no no you have to go get him! Maya please! Please! No!" She begged. I ignored it, pressing the down button. The doors closed and her cries were muffled.

"I did it. I'm the CEO of the island" I said to my reflection. It seemed to smile back at me. The elevator dinged and I stepped out, gripping the briefcase tightly in my hand. With a deep breath I walked out to my car and got in, slamming the door.
Without another word I started the car and pulled away from the curb.
