Chapter Forty Eight

Maya's POV:

"How about this one?" Krystal asked, holding up a dark brown coat. I checked the price then looked it over.

"Not worth $750.99" i grumbled, putting it back. She sighed and walked deeper into the store. I followed, trudging my feet. Shopping was boring. I'd rather be home.

We'd been to 4 stores in 3 hours and I haven't gotten a thing. Krystal on the other hand had at least 1-2 bags from each store hanging off her wrists. When I caught up to her she dropped at least half of them to look at a sweater.

"I'd kill for my pet right about now. He's good for carrying. Among other things.." she said with a smirk. I pretended to gag.

"Gross K. On another note why don't we go home. I'm not interested in buying anything" I practically begged. She sighed dramatically.

"FINE! But first, let's go to the food court first I'm starving" She gave in. I nodded and we walked to the food court. Once we got there I picked the table and she went to go get our Subway order. Growing bored I opened my phone and scrolled through Instagram.

"One Turkey sandwich with mayo, oregano salt and pepper." She came back, slapping the tray onto the table. I wordlessly picked up my food and began eating. Krystal glanced at my phone and shook her head.

"Still thinking you're gonna get a hit? Maya it's been months. She's gone" She said through a mouthful of Pepperoni Pizza. I rolled my eyes and swallowed.

"My Father hasn't been able to track her and Selena is busy dismantling the building she had built for her illegal underage human breeding idea" I hissed, then took another angry bite. Krystal gave me a weird look.

"Dismantling? The building looks practically brand new and I haven't seen any demolition team there. Weird" She said. I froze mid bite.

"What? Selena said it was taken down nearly a month ago. The place should be a parking lot" I replied. She pulled out her phone and looked up the address. Sure enough the picture of the building came up.

"See? Maybe it's a parking garage or something" I stood up immediately, throwing the remains of my food out and grabbing my bag. "Where are you going? Jesus I didn't think you hated the mall that much".

"I'm going to go confront that lying bitch." I snapped, storming out of the mall. Krystal managed to catch up with me at the parking lot and tossed me the keys.

I pulled out of the parking lot and hit the gas, probably breaking the speed limit but not caring in the slightest. Krystal was gripping the dash.

"Maya what's gotten into you? It's just a building. If the business is stopped does the building really matter?" She tried. I shot her a withering glare.

"We checked everywhere on the island but that fucking building. Because it wasn't supposed to BE. THERE. The people we have in the states confirmed she wasn't there either, they would of found her within days. She's there and she's in trouble. Selena kidnapped her" I said, accelerating more. She quietly nodded.

(Time Skip)

The plane ride seemed to take forever. I made sure my car was waiting for us by the time it landed. We loaded up the bags and immediately jumped in, hitting the gas.

We got to the building and I jumped out, slamming the door. Krystal immediately rolled the windows down but didn't get out. She seemed to understand this was a matter I had to deal with myself. I stomped up to the doors, immediately being stopped by two guards with guns. They glared at me and I attempted to shove past them. One raised their gun and I set my sights on him.

"Shoot me and my Father will make sure you and your entire bloodline suffers" I said coldly. Both of them immediately dropped their guns and let me past. I stomped past them into a hallway, grabbing the shirt of the nearest worker.

"Take me to Selena. Now."

(Time Skip)

Summer's POV:

I woke up on a white hospital bed. The bright lights immediately hurt my eyes and I squeezed them shut again. Blinking a few times helped to adjust, until I managed to see two people leaning over me. The doctor and Maya's Step Mother. She smiled down at me.

"Welcome back. You took a nasty fall in the shower and your water broke. Don't worry, you'll be fine soon. The experiment was successful" She said. The doctor helped me sit up and thats when I noticed it. My stomach was much smaller than before and I was dressed in a white hospital gown. My water broke?

"Does this mean..I had the baby?" I asked. The doctor smiled at me this time while Maya's Step Mother nodded.

"Yep, a healthy baby boy. He's with his Father now but I'm sure he'll be bought to you soon." She assured me. I nodded and leaned back into the pillows.

"9 months sure..went fast.." I said with a smile. Both of them looked at each other and smiled wider. I didn't like that smile.

"You were only pregnant for 4 months and a couple days. That was the experiment, to shorten the pregnancy time from 9 months to 4 months. And it was proven successful! Congratulations Summer you're the first successful test subject." She explained. I nearly stopped breathing. The doctor handed over a chart and exited the room, pulling the door shut behind her.

"I...I'm the first? What about the other girl? Amanda?" I asked quickly. She had seemed so excited to be part of this experiment. The grim look that overtook the woman's face made my heart sink.

"Her body rejected the injections and drugs too much and her heart couldn't take it. She died just under a week ago." She said, leaning forward and pulling the blanket higher onto me with a smile. "Don't worry, her baby survived. A boy as well. He's with David's new pairing.".

I opened my mouth to say more, only for the door to slide open and reveal someone very familiar looking.

"Hello pet, Miss me?"

I shot up out of bed, only to be shoved back down by Maya's Step Mother. She stepped in front of me.

"How the hell.."

"Enough with your bullshit Selena. Give me my pet back now or I'll beat your ass, then take her." Maya snarled. Selena picked up a syringe from the table and yanked me up in front of her, wrapping an arm around my neck. I yelped as my body protested at the sharp action. Maya froze.

"One more step and I'll plunge this into her neck" Selena threatened. Two guards came rushing into the room, pointing their guns in our direction. Selena grit her teeth behind me.

"You're a psycho. I shut down your dumb illegal idea and you go steal my pet and force her to get pregnant. I knew you were crazy, but not this damn crazy" Maya said. Selena let out a laugh.

"Even if you manage to get me. I can't go to jail. Your father would never allow it. You know, the current CEO? You have no power here you privileged bastard" She snapped. Both woman glared at each other, falling into silence. I took my chance. Despite my body protesting I elbowed Selena in the stomach and rushed forward, nearly tripping over my own feet. Maya caught me and shoved me over to the guards.

"No!"

Selena moved to try and grab me but Maya backed up and the guards surged forward. They grabbed her, cuffing her hands behind her back.

"Selena Braxton. You're being charged for the kidnapping and rape of Maya Redd's pet Summer. Anything you do and or say can be used against you.." One guard rattled off as they dragged her from the room. I buried my face into Maya's shoulder, hugging her tightly. I can finally go home.

"Take her to the car." I heard her order before she pried me off of her. Giving me a kiss, she pushed me over to another guard who stuck my arm with a needle before picking me up bridal style. I blacked out as they carried me from the room with one question stuck in my mind.

What about my baby?
