We pulled up to the restaurant and got out of the car. True to it's name it was beside the ocean, which stretched on for miles and miles.

"It looks beautiful at night" Shadow whispered as she climbed out of the car behind me. I closed the door and sighed.

Better not fuck anything up. She'd kill me on the spot

Maya checked her phone for a minute or two then tugged my leash to make me come over. I shuffled closer and continued to focus on the water. Eventually she began walking to get inside and I quickly caught up the follow.

The inside of the restaurant looked awesome. The walls were painted with fancy looking waves and decorated with sea shells and pearls and a bunch of other things that sparkled. The floor itself was completely white and spotless. Maya got to the hostess desk.

"Here for Michael Moore and his pet Lilac?" She said. Shadow frowned when she heard Lilac's name get mentioned. The hostess quickly picked up another menu and told Maya to follow her. She dropped my leash and me being confused, I stopped and just looked at her.

"Mistress?" She turned back around and gave me a smile.

"You don't sit with me. Pets get a separate table. So wait for the hostess to come back okay? Be a good girl" She explained. I nodded and she walked off and was seated at an empty table. I frowned.

"Why is the table empty?" I asked Shadow. She shrugged. Then we saw Lilac come out of the bathroom and return to a table about 30 feet away. The Director followed her after a minute or two and was fixing his suit on the way to the table.

"Oh. Ew." Shadow said, cringing. I went to reply but the hostess returned and picked up my leash, deciding the best choice to get my attention was to yank as hard as she could. I choked and stumbled forward, nearly tripping over myself. Maya watched, but didn't say anything.

"Come along pet girl. Your Owners want you seated" She snapped. I bit my lip hard to avoid saying something snarky back. It wasn't worth it. Shadow crossed her arms. We followed the hostess to the table. Unlike what she did for Maya she didn't pull the chair out for me and just tossed my leash at me and walked away. I sat down and immediately felt Lilac's wicked glare.

"Hello freak" She spat. She was wearing a fancy grey dress with white heels and a white collar. She was also sporting a leash which matched the color of the dress. I just sighed.

"Hello to you too. Why can't we sit closer? We're practically on the other side of the room." I replied. She chuckled.

"You're pretty. But so so stupid. We're pets. It's their date and while they brought us here they don't want us near them. If this place becomes full and an Owner wants our table we're kicked to the second floor. If that becomes full we're basically forced to sit outside." She explained. Shadow snorted.

"What about food? They didn't give us menus. Do we not eat or drink anything?" I asked. I got an eye roll.

"You ask too many questions. We get water only by default but our owners can add other drinks like Milk or even Soda to our menus. They get our menus and they cross off all the stuff they don't want us to get. Some stuff is crossed off by default. The really strict ones just order stuff for you and you don't even get a menu. Dessert is out of the question unless they want to share with you which I doubt will happen" She replied, holding her head with her hand. I just nodded.

"Hey..uh. I'm sorry for punching you. And you getting in trouble with your Master.." I said. Shadow whipped around from staring out the window and glared at me.

"Did you just, apologize?" She hissed. "That bitch said much more to you. She deserved it!". Lilac looked surprised for a couple seconds, then her bored look returned and she swirled her ice around in her drink with her straw.

"Uh. Thanks. You're still fairly annoying though." She mumbled. I shrugged, taking it as a win. Shadow rolled her eyes.

"Hey look they're ordering" Lilac said. I looked up and saw both Maya and the Director talking to their waiter, a short blonde girl with greenish eyes. She was wearing a black dress shirt and pants, but then I saw the weird metal thing around her neck.

"She's a pet?" I asked out loud. Lilac chuckled.

"Technically no. She's owned by the restaurant owner. Those are working type collars. Much easier than having a guard just follow each girl around. We're pretty much house pets, usually stay at home and aren't bothered unless wanted. But working pets basically live wherever they work. The basement is their 'house' and their collars make it so they can't leave the property at any time. The owners look at the cameras and punish them remotely from home. Barely have to do anything" She said.

"It would suck to be a working one. Probably don't get paid." Shadow said with a sigh. I sighed too.

"What about food? Do they get to eat what the cooks make?" I asked. Lilac immediately shook her head.

"Oh definitely not. The punishment is awful. They get whatever is left at the end of the day. It's a restaurant so there's lots of leftovers though, they aren't exactly starving."

I noticed one waiter freeze in place, then panic.

"Low battery Low battery!" She screamed. Some of the other guests just ignored her while the other waiters started to look panicked too. I looked at Lilac.

"What's wrong? Why isn't she moving?" I asked quickly, keeping my eyes on the girl. She was practically crying.

"Low battery for her collar. Those things need to be charged unlike ours. Hers must be defective or she didn't charge it last night. She isn't moving because if she does her collar will have to use its battery life to detect her new location and she could bring it down to 0%. Meaning, she's dead." She said calmly.

"She's WHAT? Those things kill them?!" I said. Two girls suddenly rushed out of the kitchen and ran over to the girl with a weird remote. One of them grabbed her and the other pointed the remote at her and clicked a button. I did notice these two had regular collars.

"What are they doing now?" I asked. The girl's collar beeped then she was dragged away. Lilac chuckled and sipped her water.

"Dragging her off to get her collar charged. And she'll probably come back with a couple lashes for not charging it herself. Easily hidden by her clothing" She replied. I frowned, then jumped once a waiter appeared at our table. Lilac mumbled something then sat up straight.

"Your Owners have granted you permission to have food. Here are your menus and for the newbie, the things with the x next to it you cannot order and if you try to your owner will be notified and you will be punished. Please excuse the little mishap we had." She sounded like a robot. The menus were placed in front of us. I looked over mine and found that there wasn't much stuff with an x next to it. Lilac looked at mine then down at her with a frown. Hers had almost two whole rows of food options with an x.

"Uh. Salmon? With the cheesy broccoli please" I said. The waiter nodded then snatched the menu. She did the same with Lilac's too and walked off. I frowned again.

"Rude" Shadow said with a scoff.
