Knock knock,
Who's there?
Tis I,
A knight in shining armour,
To save a damsel in distress.
She replied,
I am in no need of a knight,
I am in need of a friend.
He said,
Then a friend I shall be.
For a hurting soul,
Needs a friend.
So she accepted a truce of friendship,
Watching herself bloom into the person she missed,
The girl that was once free,
From all the masks she had laid on.
I am free,
She told herself,
Now I am unchained,
I am free.
In return she did not require another leaving,
For she understood,
A friend can be anyone worth trying to be.
