Today I woke up on my couch and Benji wasn't anywhere to be seen. Did I seriously fall asleep? Oh great. I walked into the kitchen and find a sticky note stuck on the fridge. It was a note from Benji. On it was written "Hey you fell asleep so I left. Don't worry I didn't steal anything😂. Hopefully we can work on the project this weekend. Text me so we don't fail lol." I smiled at the note and made myself some breakfast. When I sat down to eat I decided to text Benji.

Ok it's 12:00 already maybe I could start getting ready. I go upstairs and decide to wash and blow-dry my hair. I also curl it slightly to define my natural curls. I never bother wearing makeup because it's not like anyone looks at me anyway. But maybe I could wear nicer clothes to make up for it.
I go into my closet and pick this out:

I feel like I actually looked pretty decent for once. Once I was done getting ready it was 2:30 so I headed downstairs and watched TV until Benji showed up. At about 4:25 a teal jeep pulled up in my driveway. I got up and walked to the door. As I opened the door I looked behind me to make sure my dog didn't run out and when I turned back around I came face to face with Benji. Being startled I fell forward and knocked him over. Oopsie. I closed my eyes ready for the impact of my head on the concrete, but it never came. I opened one eye to see if I was going crazy and looked up to see that Benji had caught my fall. "omg I'm sorry.." I said embarrassed. "God you are really clumsy aren't you." he said chuckling. He looked at me up and down with a smile "new clothes nerdy?" he said. "something like that." I said tucking hair behind my ear. Out of nowhere my dog came bounding out the front door and jumped on Benji nearly knocking him over...again. "Pepper! Go inside girly!" I shout. "omg I didn't know you had a lab." he said scratching her stomach. "yeah I've had her since I was young but she still acts like a big puppy." I said pulling her inside by the collar. "she's so cute though." said Benji. "that she is" I said nodding. "ok so are you ready to go?" he asked gesturing behind him. "yup" I replied simply. We walked out to the car and he opened the passenger side for me. "nice car" I said. "thanks I fixed it up myself." he said. "woah that's sick!" I exclaimed. He sat in the driver's seat laughing at my remark. "soooo...where are we going?" I asked. "you aren't getting it out of me that quickly." he said smirking. "you're mean." I said crossing my arms pouting. "you'll like it I promise." he reassures. I turn on the radio and flip to a channel where the song sunflower by Post Malone comes on. I turn it up and we both start jamming out. He rolled down the windows and we both sang at the top of our lungs

We pulled up to a boardwalk Fair and parked. I turned towards Benji with a confused but excited look. "is this where you wanted to bring me?!" I asked excitedly. "well this is only part of it." he said rubbing his neck. "ok I forgive you for earlier." I said quickly getting out of the car. Benji got out of the car laughing at how excited I was. I grabbed him by the arm and ran towards the fair. "cmon!! You are so slow!" I yelled at him. "ok ok" he said holding his hands up. I ran straight for the ferris wheel. "we need to go on it!!" I said. "its so funny. You are like a little kid." he said laughing. I blushed out of embarrassment. We entered the cart and the ride began to turn. Once we reached the top I looked down at the boardwalk and the beach. It was beautiful. Once we got of the ferris wheel we rode a bunch of other rides and played some games. Of course I whooped his ass in air hockey and we won a big turtle which I named Ethan (🤫😉). "ok now follow me." Benji said dragging me behind him. "where are we going." I said laughing. He pulled me to a cute little ice cream place so we could get ice cream. "haha Benji what's this for?" I asked. "duh I need to know your favorite flavor for the project." he said. He ordered cookie dough while I ordered chocolate peanut butter. "wouldve never thought of you as a chocolate ice cream kind of girl" he said. "yeah well I'm just full of surprises aren't I" I said with a smile. "you sure are" he replied. "now for the grand finale close your eyes" he said. "omg benji really?" I said. "yes! Now close your eyes." he said. "steal from me all you want but if my ice cream melts, you die." I say. "haha it won't." he said. He lead me through the forest and then told me to stop. Once I opened my eyes I saw that we were on the edge of a cliff overlooking the entire city. It was absolutely beautiful. Benji took a seat on a blanket and patted an area next to him for me to sit. I sat down and we both watched the sunset as we learned more about each other. "hey benji?" I asked. "hmm" he hummed. "whyd you do this?" I asked. "because we might not have gotten along at first, but now you are like my friend and I wanted to make up for it." he said shrugging. I leaned over and gave him a kiss on the cheek. He looked a little startled so I laughed. "thank you. I've never had a real friend other than my cousin." I said. "no problem today was fun and we got a lot of the project done." he said with a cheeky smile.
*driving home*
Benji drove me home and let me keep the bug turtle stuffy since I technically won it. When I walked into my house I ran upstairs and flopped onto my bed. I screamed into my pillow because tonight was so amazing and Benji is just the best and oh God I can't catch feelings for him. Nope can't happen. Gah but he's so...nope he's nothing. I'm screwed. This project ends soon so you won't have to see him again no problem. God but I want to see him. Fml.
