Master Kanto grabbed another body off the ground and heaved it into the bottomless pit. Him and Dark Link were close to halfway done with disposing of the bodies that Dark Link had just killed moments ago. Kanto had sent the rest of the clan away to wait for further instructions shortly after it happened. Dark had asked Kanto to stay with him to get rid of the opposers.
The bodies laid lifeless on the ground. Their skin had turned gray and the eyes that were open were black as night. Small traces of malice swam where it had pierced them.
"Ugh," Dark grunted while trowing another body into the hole. "So many doubters."
Master Kanto stopped dragging the person he was carrying. He was uncharacteristically getting annoyed at the casual attitude Dark Link had towards what he did. "Does it even phase you that these were actual people? They all had lives-"
"And they chose to go against us." Dark shook his head. "Kanto, if you want to take control over the kingdom, this is want needs to be done."
Kanto though for a while. "I guess you're right. This is necessary." Kanto continued to haul one of the bodies.
"I should warn you," Dark added, "that I will do what I've done again if I need to. I hope you can support me in this."
Kanto nodded.
"Good. Loyalty is lacking around here. Knowing you support me is very nice."
They continued disposing of the people. The sun was high in the sky and beat down on the pair like hammers to nails. They carried a few more bodies then decided to take a break. Kanto ordered a servant to fetch them water as they rested. They sat down up against the cliff face under the shade.
"Y'know," Dark said in between breaths, "I've been meaning to ask you. How did you become the new master after Kohga died?"
Kanto stopped mid-drink. "Do you really not know?"
"No," he responded. "Just because I'm the spirit of Ganon doesn't mean I know everything about you people. Is there an election? Is there a bloodline. Were you Kohga's son or something?"
Kanto snorted. "Hylia, no. I... well, it's a pretty long story."
Dark shrugged. "We've got some time."
Master Kanto was surprised at his response. "You sure? There's much to do-"
"I'm sure," Dark interrupted. "Tell me your story."

"Vallail Kanto, turn around right now!"
A concerned mother reached out to her 14 year old son. He marched towards the door with nothing but an old map and a bag of rupees in his hand. His father quickly rushed to the door to block it.
"Vallail, are serious? Have you even thought about what you're doing?"
The boy tried to push past the man, but was overpowered. The father held him by the shoulder.
"You're not thinking straight. Let's talk it about it. We can talk it through. I know-"
"You two don't know anything!" the boy yelled. "You don't know what I know." His actions became more animated as he paced around the room. "I feel like my mind has been opened! I believe I can do things I never could've imagined!" He tried running through the door again. The father was there to catch him.
"Vall, even if we were ok with you leaving your family and your people, which we aren't, how would you survive out there? All those monsters and hellish guardians would eat you alive!"
