Elementary School - Kindergarten! TordMatt

3rd Person POV:

It was the start of the school year, and Matt was extremely excited for it. He would make so many friends, play on a playground, and... well, he wasn't sure what else he'd do. His parents dropped him off, giving him a hug and tearing up.

"You'll be good, right?" "Yeah! Good!" Matt's father laughed and ruffled his hair. "I know. Have fun..." Matt gave his father a smile and ran into the school, greeting anyone he passed by. Soon, he saw a teacher in the hallway and went up to her.

"Uhm... where's my class?" The teacher crouched down to match Matt's height. "What's your name?" "I'm Matt!" Matt noticed that she was holding some papers, which she looked over for a moment. "Matt, you're in my class! Just go in that room, okay?"

The teacher pointed at a light brown door and Matt quickly scurried inside. He saw a few other kids in there, most of them were either socializing, breaking things, or... one of them was sitting in the corner of the room. Matt felt bad for him, feeling like the kid was lonely and shy.

He went to the corner and sat on the ground next to the kid. Matt observed him, the kid doing the same to him, the kid had caramel colored hair that came into two horns at the top of his head and he was holding a water gun. Matt pondered why he had the water gun, but didn't comment. After he finished checking the boy out, he made eye contact with him.

"Uhm... hello! I'm Matt, the best kid in the world!" The other child cocked a brow. "I... Tord. I learning... Eng-English." He boy seemed to struggle with his words, getting a bit shy. He looked down at his hands and fidgeted with them. "I can help you, I know English!" Tord looked back up at him. "Really?" "Yeah! We can be best friends!" Tord relaxed a bit more and nodded. "O-okay... erm... thank you..."

Later, the two were swinging on a swingset. "Look!" Matt pointed at two kids that were just sitting on the ground, chatting. "What?" Tord replied. "Let's go talk to them!" Matt jumped off of the swingset and sprinted over to them, Tord following at a slower pace.

"Hewwo!" The kid in a green hoodie said, waving at them with a Cola can. "H-hi..." The other kid said, holding a teddy bear. He seemed to have no eyes, and Matt gasped. "Cool eyes!" "You like them?" "Yeah!" "Thanks..."

Tord stayed silent sitting down on the grass. He sat a bit farther than everyone else. "Tord, c'mere!" Matt said, trying to include him. Tord crawled over and sat by Matt, hiding behind him a bit. "Tord's learning English, and he's shy." Tord peeked at the other kids for a moment.

"Hi Tord. My name is Tom." "So many fwends! My name's Edd!" Tord waved a bit and went back to hiding behind Matt. "I'm Matt! Nice to meet you!"

Matt continued to communicate with the other kids, but Tord stayed quiet. He just touched Matt's hair and held onto Matt's arms every now and then, and Matt didn't mind. After recess, Tord and Matt sat next to each other in the back of the room. Edd and Tom were there too, so they just talked the entire time.

"Matt, teach... English." "Okay! Let's have a... con... ver... sation! Conversation!" "Okay... h-how are... you?" "I'm great! How about you?" "I'm... tired."

Tord thought about what to say next, tapping his fingers on his desk. He peered at Edd, who was drawing stuff on his desk in permanent marker.

"You... like... draw?" "Sometimes! I don't draw much." Tord nodded and poked Matt's arm. "...What're you doing?" "What are those dots?" Matt looked down at his arm, seeing his freckles. "Those are freckles! I have dots!" "...Can I have one?" "I don't think they come off... other... wise, I would've given you some!" Matt booped Tord's cheek. "Right there!" He added. Tord returned the gesture to Matt, poking his cheek.

"I like... freckles. Your freckles." Matt grinned and stuck his tongue out. "I like you too!" Tord blushed and brought his hand back, fiddling with his fingers again. "Th-thank you, Matt." "No problem, Tordie!"
