Today was one of those days when you felt extremely miserable. Even more so as your boyfriend finally had a day off for the first time in weeks and intended to take you out on a date. 'Why, of all days, must I start my period today?' , you mumbled to yourself. Just as you were about to flop down on the couch you heard the door bell ring. 'It must be him' , you thought. You opened the door and were greeted by a smiling Yusuke.

"Hello love." he smiled, kissing your cheek.

"Hey..." you smiled weakly back at him.

"Can we go?" he asked anticipating, his smile slowly fading as he saw you were still in your comfy clothes.

"Why aren't you dressed yet?" he asked confused.

"You didn't forget about our date, did you?"

"Yusuke, I don't feel so well today..." you said with an apologetic look.

"A-are you sick?" he asked, rushing in with a worried expression on his face. Immediately he placed a hand on your forehead, trying to determine whether you were running a fever.

"Not exactly sick." you mumbled.

"It's just... girls problems, you know." you added, feeling slightly embarrassed.

"Oh." he nodded his head in understanding, closing the door behind him.

"I'm really sorry, Yusuke. But I really don't feel like going out today."

"It's okay, love. We can just stay here." he cupped your face and pressed his lips on top of your head.

He then put his arm around you and gave you a comforting squeeze as he walked you to the living room. As you sat down on the couch you felt the pain in your lower abdomen intensify. Seeing your pained expression, he kneeled down in front of you.

"Is there anything I can do?" he asked in the sweetest tone possible.

"No, I'm fine." you shook your head. You couldn't help but smile at how caring and understanding your boyfriend was.

"Let's just sit here and watch TV." you patted the empty space beside you.

"Okay..." he replied, slightly brushing your forehead with his lips as he crawled next to you.

He wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you in a warm embrace. You leaned your head against his chest and he comfortably rested his head on top of yours. After a while he started to stroke your hair, gently running his fingers through it. With his other hand he softly rubbed his thumb in circling motions on the back of your hand. You liked this cuddly side of him. And for a moment his caressing let you forget the pain.

It wasn't long though when you felt the pain taking over control again. You tried your best to ignore it but eventually gave in. Groaning in discomfort, you leaned forward and pressed your hands on your stomach. Hoping the pressure you put on your lower abdomen would ease the pain.

"Do you want me to get you something for the pain?" he spoke in a soft voice while gently rubbing your back.

"Yes, please." you nodded.

He instantly got up and headed towards the kitchen, returning shortly after.

"Here." he said, handing you a glass of water and some painkillers.

"Thank you." you merely whispered while reaching out for it.

After swallowing the pills you placed the glass on the coffee table and Yusuke pulled you back in a loving embrace. You leaned back and snuggled into his chest, wrapping your arm around his waist. He then rubbed your stomach gently, putting light pressure on it to help ease the pain. A contented smile crept onto your face and the both of you stayed like this for quite a while.
