The next day was a blur. Steph called her mum to inform her we had a house and then after some incredible real english breakfast tea, we waved down yet another taxi and had it take us to our new house. there, we dropped off our suitcases, baggsed our bedrooms and hung up a few essential clothing items before hitting the shops.

We desperatly needed beds and crockery so the kitchen shop was our first stop. Kat went insane, spending a few hundred euro on blenders, popcorn makers, smoothie makers, toasters, knives forkes, plates, cups, chopping boards. i dont even know what else but it was clear we now needed a place to leave it all...I mean, we didnt even have a car.

In the end we hauled it back to our appartment and thought it was time we got a car. Obviously one car between three people was not going to work, but until we had all the furnature and electronics, one would have to do.

We all went to the dealership but sent Steph in to do the talking. Kat knew a little bit about cars but i'm fairly sure Steph was read top gear magazines before she could even walk and has grown up preaching about the inner mechanics of the vehicles.

We hopped out of the taxi and entered car heaven. Steph of course, wasnt fazed by the shiny ones at the entrance, and made her way to the back. To the 2015 Ford Mustange GT and the only reason i know what it's called was because of the massive sign hanging abouve the car. she talked to one of the salesmen and we followed them both further into the store. There sat the same car but in magnificent shiny black.

"Are those rims aluminium?" She questioned, kneeling down and tapping them with her knuckle. The man nodded, seeming slightly uncomfortable. Steph opened the passenger side door. "What are the seats? Cloth sport?" she continued. He nodded again, moving around the car and deciding to find his voice.

"It's a flashback 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 engine--" "6speed manual." Steph cut him off smirking as she popped the bonnet. She returned to the side door, "I applaud the black interior...We'll take it."

Once we had convinced the salesman that first car buyers got a discount we took the keys and with the fabulous drive away deal, hopped in and sped away straight back to the shops, gunning the engine the whole way.

Now for the furnature. this was going to be interesting. The beds were easy, as well as the mirrors and draws we each wanted in our seperate rooms, but when it came to the table and lounges it got complicated. The couch in the end was decided to be one of those squishy black leather ones that you sink into and with a white rug and black coffee table it would fit in well.

The rug easily fit into the car and the flatpack coffee table lay accross the back, just fitting. We then discovered that we can get a truck to deliver big items so we dished out 60 euro and hired a truck.

The table was a light wash wood with thick legs. it was rectangle and sat 6 people. We bought white chairs with silver legs and red fabric placemats.

Then it was time for electronics. Steph and i wondered over to the TV's and stereo systems while Kat followed a middle aged lady to the friedges, ovens, dishwashers and microwaves...boring. By the time she had purchased one of each and arranged for them to be put on our truck, Steph and i had chosen the good stuff. 1 Large flat screen apple tv for the lounge room, 1 suround sound system that hooked up to both the tv and the iphone and we soon discovered, a cd player.

by the time it was all paid for i was surprised at how much money our joint account still had. Our truck was scheduled to arrive with our beds, desks, table, chiars, oven and all the other stuff we had bought, in 5 days so we went into a camping store and bought two blowup mattress. we then took the pillows, sheets and doonas we bought today and set up a make shift bed for us, joining the two matresses together. it would do. Our laptops, now connected the buildings wifi, provided our entertainment for the afternoon, fueled by our popcorn machine im glad kat bought.

the next few days were filled with us hanging up clothes, dusting and vaccuming, filling the bathroom and shower with our products and the all importent food shopping. We spent over 300 euro on food, feeling the need to have a house warming party by ourselves. An esky became our fridge and the fuit sat in a pile on the bench. It was pretty funny, none of us realising buying every flavour of milk was not the best idea without a fridge but daily packets of ice kept it cold and honestly it was gone by the time the fridge did come.

8 strong men carried everything into our apartment and even dealt with the flat packs for us and connected our fridge and oven and microwave and everything else so it all worked. The water and electricity already worked but now, with proper furnature, beds, a fridge, it began to feel like home. We had bought all the accessories, displays, wall paintings, and other house decorations the day before and so our afternoon consisting of haning paintings, placing couch cushions and making our beds. Connecting the TV and sound system was done by the guys earlier so we had sick beats playing the whole day and by 6PM we were done. Finally. Finally we had a home.
