Christmas day. Hangover time. We had all been out last night, knocking around town, drinking what we were given and smoking what the boys found in their pockets. We ended up in a park at one point, falling down the slide and jumping off the swings. Then finally, we arrived back at the boys place. In the house that night it was Matty, Harry, Luke and George, obvioulsy as they live there, and then Kat, Steph, Niall and I slept over. Kat shared Harry's bed and I'm pretty sure when Steph dissapeared somewhere early in the morning, it was to Luke's room. So it was just Niall and I, him on the floor and me on the couch. Not talking. Eventually I fell asleep, the alcohol running through my veins putting me into a deep slumber. I dont know what Niall did, but when i woke up i was in a bed. Georges bed to be precise. I was alone and panadol was required before i could figure out why i was here.
After panadol i slept till 11. Then i made my way to the shower and headed downstairs in a massive pair of baggy boxers and an even baggier shirt, both belonging to George's cupbord. Downstairs it was just the group. Matty, Harry, Luke, George, Niall, Kat and Steph. We didnt have anywhere else to be today. No other family or friends to celebrate with. Only each other.
"How are you feeling?" Niall asked, moving over as i curled my legs underneath me and sat down. I saw Matty almost physically draw back his words, knowing he was going to ask me that.
"I am good." I smiled around at everyone. "Merry Christmas." Everyone nodded, smiling and saying to back.
The day went quite quickly actually. We all migrated to our house at lunch time, bringing chairs and food up to our roof top and sitting around, starting a small fire and snuggling around it as the sun began to set. The dogs stayed downstairs, giving us the option to lay on the grass and thats what us three girls did. The boys were talking shit about thier beer so we snuck off the other side of the area and lay down.
"How has this actually happened?" Kat wispered. "This is our dream and its actually happening."
"I know. It's everything we ever wanted, ever dreamed of. All those hours of obsessing over how it would plan out...and now its happened, exactly like we wanted." I replied, watching the stars.
"Do you think it will stay this perfect?" Steph asked quietly.
"I mean, we never planed for it to go bad..." kat said, a smile in her voice. I hit her arm, all of us giggling.
"But seriously. If this hadnt happened to us. If we hadnt been lucky enough to find this house, the dogs, those boys...if we hadnt stuck together...nothing would be like this. If we hadnt all hated school we never would have met in detention that afternoon all those years ago...then we would never have had the ability to dream this life and then live it...I am only just starting to realise the true power of fate." I said, quietly, taking in the enormity of the sky.
"It honestly scares me." Kat said
"I wouldnt be able to live without you two you know." Steph said softly.
'Neither would I. We would all be lost if we ever had to be alone out there." Kat replied.
"We take on the world together." I said before silence fell for a few minutes.
"I bought you guys christmas presents." Kat said, sitting up and reaching into Harry's large jacket she was wearing. She produced two wrapped presents. One small and square, the other, CD shaped. She hadned the CD to Steph and the small box to me. I pulled back the paper to reveal a small black cartier box. I looked up at her, eyebrows raised.
"You better not have." I said sternly. She only smiled and raised her hands up in a defeated motion.
Inside was none other then a silver cartier ring. I gasped, wraping my arms around her neck.
