Demons and Angels

Chapter 1

I touched my mothers' shoulder and she shrugged off fear. 

"Sorry, Mom what is going on? Te-Tell me plea-please."

My voice shook a bit and I stuttered. My eyes wandered into the direction of a bloody object lying on our kitchen counter.

"Seriously MOM! What is all this ABOUT!" 

I panicked and my breath began to hasten. My pulse was literally causing my heart to explode.
The object lying there on the kitchen counter was a dagger, showered in blood and terrifying. However, strangely some comforting aura emitted from it though. 
My body told me to stay away from the dagger, while my head told me to observe the weapon closely. 
Like I was enchanted, I got closer to it and was pulled back by my mom, suddenly. Her hands were like iron handcuffs, hindering me from moving even an inch. 
Her voice was quiet and sweat ran down her temples visibly. I was shocked myself. In this state, she could only be in one situation. 
Something she had prophecied in her dreams came true once again.
At times I really wanted my mother, my lovely caring mother, to not feel the future events or dream about them. I felt like my family was fated to be cursed. 

Compared to my mother, my talent was less horrible, I could feel foreign beings. Be it a spirit, a demon. I could sense these creatures immediately. The air was cold and a slight breeze passed by the windows in our classrooms, when there was no real wind breeze. People began to freeze and get scared. Only I kept playing it cool.
There was a negative side effect in all the awesome advantages. My eye color changed from green to dark red and my hair turned grey. Not too great ability after all, right? To summarize it, I look like a vampire who hasn't drunk blood for days.

My father was skilled in martial arts. I doubt my family is even from this dimension. His fighting skills can compare to those of the wuxia movies with all their invisible gear to transport the actors into heights. He can jump high, fly by using his mind power, sick but somehow really cool.
