"So what is your name cutie? God, you are really adorable."-"My my name?"

The girl looked at me with her big and shining eyes. Confusion and hesitation bared itself to the eye.

"Yes your name. How could a sweet girl like you not have a name? i think you got one when you were born right?"

I pinched her cheek and she slapped it away softly showing me that she felt comfortable around me.

"My name is Leila. Leila Crystal. The one staring at us worried is my brother. His name is Lucas."

I turned my head to see that Leila was right. Lucas looked at us with his dark eyes and I noticed fear in his facial expression. How could one be so intimidating with just one stare?

"Lucas, can I talk to you for a second? It is about her small scratches on the knees."-"Sure, no problem. Thank you for the help even though you don't know us."-"Not a big deal."

I giggled at Luca's friendliness and smiled broadly.
Then I put Leila down onto a stool nearby and ordered her to stay seated and move around less.

"I am back in a few minutes okay? Don't run or move too fast or you will hurt yourself again. got it?"-"Okay big sister!"

Leila winked and I walked to Lucas shaking my head with a big smile on my face.
When I reached Lucas he also began to walk and we moved away from the crowd. At some point, he stopped in his tracks and turned to me.

"I wanted to talk to you here. There is one thing I don't dare to tell Leila and it concerns me that she starts to ask around because of it. Our parents didn't die in a pleasant way to describe events nicely. This shadow creature they talked about in news and newspapers did all the killing spree here. Would you mind also keeping this to yourself? I don't want to make her sadder than needed at a young age."

I simply nodded and agreed.

"You are right. We should keep the burden of knowing the details from her as long as she won't be able to kinda even realize what happened. I assume she saw the corpses though?"-"Yeah, why? Ah damn. I know what you wanted me to realize. She knows only a part of the truth and it should stay this way for some time."

He put his hand on my shoulder and a smile spread over his face. Splendid happiness and relief hinted out on his face.
I felt relieved just as much as he did. I finally managed to notice how difficult life was here. People died and not in a comfortable way. I shuttered thinking about that fact and goosebumps spread over my whole body.
