Demons and Angels

Chapter 8

After a few minutes, I followed the woman staggering a bit whilst walking.
I pushed a door of rusty old roof parts aside. Right then sunlight blinded me. My eyes hurt like crazy and I covered them with my hands.
I already felt a headache incoming, damn.
My eyes only got used to the bright light slowly and a surrounding formed itself around me.
Many people, young and old, sat at fireplaces. Some covered with old and torn blankets.
A truly unfamiliar sight that made my heart ache like crazy.
Those poor people living in dirt and destructions, they had no place to flee too. Tears welled up in my eyes.
I slowly walked forward and saw the strange woman in a distance.
My thought was that I should follow her.
I got disturbed by a small girl who tripped and fell while running away from her brother fooling around. She made an eery scream and started to cry.
Out of instinct, I rushed to her.
"Are you alright, sweety? Oh no! Your knees are bleeding and dirty. Wait for a second sister has something that can help you feel better immediately. I promise you will like it."
My voice hinted out worry and I calmed her down freaking out myself. I let her rest on one knee while kneeling on the floor with the other. my hands reached for wound aid and didn't betray me even if I tended to not find them at the right time.
Coincidentally I was proved different from fortune. Wise me had a few plasters with cute princesses on them.
Her blue eyes lit up at seeing two plasters and she giggled cheerfully.
I carefully put the two plasters on the wounds after cleaning them with a tissue and kissed her cleaned and prettily decorated wounds also.
The expression in her eyes showed pure joy and she cried a bit out of joy while smiling broadly from ear to ear and hid her face in my right shoulder.
I held her in my arms and kissed her cheek when I had finally stood up. My knee hurt like I don't know how much, however, I hid the pain and smiled suppressing a scream out of piercing pain.
"Do you feel better now? Do your knees still hurt?"-"No, hi hi. Thank you, big sister. Let me hug you! I-I love you sister!!!!"
Completely unprepared I received a grand and tight hug from the little girl and a big smooch on the cheek and the lips.
God! I was hella surprised and blushed a little.
I developed a small plan though and followed my intentions.
"Let me show you another surprise okay? Tada! What do you think?"
I fished a little candy from a jacket pocket and gave it to her.
If one should describe the feeling I had, I would say pure bliss. Never had I seen such a grateful person ever since I was born. Her love and affection just showered you in an instant in which she made you fall for her.
