The article wrote about a bad incident happening a few years back in the past.
A shadow creature was said to be haunting the streets at night, terrorizing all the citizens.

I read the heading and got goosebumps: "Weird entity begins killing spree in Shumi Village!"

No wonder that the locals got frightened. Who wouldn't run if their lives in their own homes weren't safe at all?
Well, I swallowed nervously. The noise from before, it must be the entity, goddammit!
Moreover, the typically foolish me thought of some more friendly and peaceful creature!
Okay, now my heart really raced. I heard footsteps outside of the hall. F*ck!
In a split second, I found a place to hide. An old small counter with a hidden door to flee or to prevent yourself from facing your enemy right on face to face.
I opened the hidden door slightly so that I could look through a small gap. A shadow with eyes glowing bright red prowled through the whole hall to find me. It must have seen me walking in here an hour ago roughly, judging from the sun rays shining against the wall in the back.
Steps closed in and I froze on the spot, holding my breath in. My heart raced and my pulse was at like maybe 200 or more. The red eyes got closer and closer, I started to sweat.

Suddenly a sword snapped through the air. The entity screamed and ran towards the hall gate.
This scary and terrifying growling and also now howling got quieter. Footstep sounds dissipated.

I crawled out of the hiding space and tried to stand up.
Nothing worked, I was frozen, shaking at the same time oddly. I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned my head.
There was a young man with a sword on his back. He pulled his hand back to his head hurriedly. A shy smile on the face.
"I hope you aren't too shocked by everything here. You are definitely new in this area. All the arrivals are reacting the way you do. Can I help you in any way? Just an answer if you calmed a bit more?"
I felt like in a dream. I stared blankly at this stranger. His arms were muscular and seemed strong enough to lift more than a sword.
Thank god, I should say in my place because seconds after he finished speaking I collapsed onto the ground and remained unconscious. Yay, what a great day that I experienced huh?
