It was still the same day and Y/n had just finished talking to Charlie "you are actually pretty fun to be around" Y/n said teasingly "Thank you, I definitely want to hang out with you more. Bye Y/n" Charlie said and kissed her on the cheek. Leaving Y/n's face fully red. A smile crept upon her face as she saw Charlie walk away. Out of all the things he had said, there was only one thing she couldn't stop thinking of. 'If he walks away each time you go to him, wait for him to come to you' So that's what Y/n did, she walked up to the Gryffindor common room. The boys dorm wasn't so different from her own, it was quite messier but not in the worst condition. A yellow banner that said Gryffindor with their house mascot hung on the top of their bed. A wooden chair and dresser close to the bed, the lamp was placed on their dresser and on their wooden board. It had stone walls and wooden floors and on the top of the pet cage was a snuffbox. Y/n sat down with her legs crossed on James bed, since they had just arrived the classes didn't begin until tomorrow. James shared his dorm with Fred and Yann Fredericks. The door opened and in walked Fred but no James behind him, Y/n pouted "isn't James with you?" Fred hadn't noticed that Y/n was in their dorm until she spoke up. "Jesus Y/n, you scared me" Fred exclaimed with a hand on his heart. Y/n giggled "sorry, I was waiting for James. Since he doesn't want to talk to me" Y/n frowned while Fred sat down beside her. "Yea, I noticed that. I tried asking him about it, but he didn't answer me" Y/n nodded "I know, that's why I'm here. To confront him or at least find out what I have done wrong" she honestly told Fred, she also decided to tell him something else, since he knew something about it. "I was with Charlie in the courtyard after dinner, and we talked for a long time. He was really fun to hang out with and he actually wants to hang out with me again" Y/n blushed by talking about Charlie, she felt different around him than she did around James, Albus, Scorpius and Fred.
James walked in the door to his dorm, first he saw Fred but then he saw Y/n and she noticed James. An awkward silence filled the room "thats it! I'm really tired of it James. Just talk her, even if it makes things worse!" Fred yelled and left the room with a loud bang. Y/n got more serious "you know James, I don't know what I have done wrong. I have been told my whole life that everything bad that happens is my fault and maybe this is to. But for the first time I actually thought I would get to know what I have done wrong" James kept quiet, he didn't know how to answer what. Was it right of him to ignore Y/n for that small thing. "I know it's not a big thing, but it is for me. I want you to trust me and feel like you can tell me everything" James finally showed his feelings, maybe it was for the best.
"It's about my crush on Charlie isn't it? Nobody knew except the girls, Lucas stole my letter from Charlie and Fred was there too. Even Albus doesn't know" Y/n guessed and told him the rest, even though the two of them had fought. James found the time to tease Y/n perfect and that was their relationship. They could fight and make up without it being awkward. "Y/n got a boyfriend" James teased and sang. She sent him a glare "I do not, I don't even know if he likes me, he has a really flirty personality" Y/n admitted and tucked a piece of blonde hair behind her ear. James chuckled "I bet he already has kissed you" he joked but Y/n blushed, "Wait, has he?" "Kind of, but not on the mouth. Only on the cheek" Y/n's cheeks heated up and James reaction was priceless, it made Y/n chuckle. James scanned Y/n, she didn't act or look like a twelve year old even though she was only 4"11 or 150 cm. Her hair was long, straight and sun blonde. Her lips was red as cherries, dimples showed up when she smiled. "Y/n, I can I ask you something about your family?" James asked carefully, he really didn't want to upset her. Y/n smiled, she liked way James was so understanding about her parents, so she nodded. "Do you have a birth certificate that says you are born in 2005? I mean, you act and look older" James asked Y/n shook her head, she knew it herself that she acted older than she was "I don't I have it, but my aunt and uncle always just said that my birthday was on June 21 and that I was born in 2005" They spent the rest of the night talking and coming up with reason and options why Y/n looked like she was born in 2004, if her parents aunt and uncle had lied to her. When the clock was around 2:00 a.m, Y/n rolled around in her bed until she hit something. It was soft and comfortable, so she put her hands around the pillow and hugged it until she finally fell asleep properly.
