It is now late evening and Josie is not getting any better. Henry wishes he could do anything to help his wife but he can't. Comforting and loving on her is the best thing he can do.
The two doctors think of different ideas and treatments to no success. They prepared the operating table in care they need to perform an operation. Sully walks into the clinic and sits with Michaela as she sits down.
"You're smart. You'll know what to do, you always do Michaela. " He says.
"I was going to tell you that I'm definitely having twins. We're blessed to have our joy doubled."
"I'll have to get started on those cribs then."
"Dr. Mike! She's going into labor!" Henry calls from upstairs.
She and Andrew head upstairs to check on her.
"Dr. Mike, it's HURTS SO BAD." Josie screams.
"We're gonna try to ease your pain Josie. Take deep breaths so I can take a look." Michaela says.
"What's happening to me?" Josie says.
"Her water has broken and she's beginning to bleed. "The belladonna and ice isn't working." Andrew says
" She's gonna bleed to death if we don't deliver. Sully! I need your help!"
Sully comes up the stairs of the clinic and carries Josie down the stairs onto the operating table.
Henry and Sully sit outside on the bench.
Sully looks up at the night sky. "She's gonna be fine. You're gonna be welcoming a sweet little baby soon. You're strong, Josie is gonna need you to be even more of a father while she's in the mend to your three."
"Thank you. I was on the verge of a meltdown but your wise words seem to come at the right time." Henry says as he looks down at his feet and then up at the sky.
Meanwhile Michaela and Andrew are prepping Josie for delivery.
"Spray her stomach with the antiseptic. I'll get the chloroform."the lady doctor says.
"When you wake up, You'll have a little baby to hold." She reassures her dear friend as she gives her the anesthesia.
Dr. Mike had done caesareans before but never this early in a pregnancy. Being pregnant herself with twins, she knew that she could be in the very same predicament.
She makes the first incision and cuts into her dear friend. Andrew holds to towel as Michaela lifts the little baby from its mother's belly.
"Dr. Quinn, the baby isn't breathing"
"Use the suction clear the baby's throat. I'll stitch her up now."
Andrew does was he is told and the baby begins to cough and then cry.
"It's a precious little boy. He's tiny."Andrew steps outside to tell Henry the news.
"You have a son. Congratulations Henry. Dr. Mike asked if Sully could take Josie upstairs."
Henry and Sully head inside and Sully puts Josie into a clean bed as she still sleeps.
"She needs rest. She should sleep for about an hour or hopefully she wakes up before the baby needs to be feed."
"Thank you Dr. Mike for everything you've done to help us with my wife and my little son. Meet him, Henry Joseph Luke Harvey. Born today June 11, 1893."
"He's precious. He's about five pounds but I don't see any sign of concern if he eats and grows normally." Michaela says.
"Henry Joseph, you've got your Mama's eyes. A head full of hair too. You've got a big sister named Hazel and a big brother named Isaac. Mama and Papa love you so much." He says as he rocks him son in the rocking chair.
