Hakone Ekiden,

which is officially called Tokyo-Hakone Round-Trip College Ekiden Race (東京箱根間往復大学駅伝競走Tōkyō Hakone kan Ōfuku Daigaku Ekiden Kyōsō), is one of the most prominent university ekiden (relay marathon) races of the year held between Tokyo and Hakone in Japan.

In a marathon where five sections are provided between Tokyo and Hakone each way. Each runner runs one section, alternates with the next runner at a station. Each team has ten runners, running with their teams' sashes which are handed over to the next runner on the team at each station.

This is the most long awaited sports event for each University, especially for the pair of Haiji siblings.

KIYOSE HAIJI, A fourth year in Kansei Uni who is majoring in literature plans to chase his dream by entering the race in his final year of college.

YUKARI HAIJI, known as Kiyose's younger sister who also studies in Kansei Uni majoring in sociology. She aims to support her brother to reach Hakone Ekiden, no matter what the consequences are.

The two gather people in their Uni's abandoned track team by letting people stay in the dorms for a questionable price, without mentioning anything about the Hakone Ekiden.

"One last person."

They successfully gathered 9 people, needing a minimum of 10 members to participate.
