Shuri sat down upon the ruins of the Wakandan throne room and examined the pathetic remains of a once ethereal hall.
Releasing the black panther mask, she leaned her head back on the dust covered rusting throne and sighed. She had spent herself on the battlefield over the last week. Her healing wounds still throbbed, leaving her uncomfortable and exhausted despite the mandatory bedrest for the last two days.
All of T'Challa's knowledge ran through her mind, all of her father's knowledge, her grandfather's, great grandfather's and on and on and on... and yet.
She even heard Killmonger's short time among the line of kings. His voice sometimes rang the loudest in her head. For such a short time among them, he had managed to leave a heavy mark.
For now T'Challa and Killmonger were still at war in her mind. And she wasn't certain whose will she finally decided to serve. Maybe a combination of both. Since the start of her reign five years ago, she had finally united the eighteen tribes including the banished people. She made it legal to use magick to its fullest potential again... the ancient way. And forced into the great war, she sent the Wakandan armies with all of their advanced weaponry out to defend the continent from conquerors. As far as they knew, Africa was the only inhabitable dry land left on earth. North and South America had long ago sunk into the sea never to be seen again.
After young Shuri and Thanos disappeared with the time stone from Serpent Valley in 2019, their travels distorted the timeline just enough to create this new world order. Shuri was dropped in the year 110, the same year of the vibranium rain and the forming of Wakanda. Thanos, however, traveled even further back all the way to prehistoric time, the year Warlock's asteroid crashed into eastern Africa in order to get his hands on the soul stone before it was hidden in centuries of layered soil, magic, culture and religion. Thanos kept the time stone in his possession so after hunting down the soul stone, he turned back time and returned to the present.
Shuri however was stranded. She spent twenty years in the past before she was able to advance vibranium technology enough to time travel. Her use of time travel was rudimentary however, causing her to accidentally rip a wormhole in the middle of the Atlantic ocean and awakening an entire race of hibernating bloody thirsty Atlanteans.
What the Wakandans had been doing in their isolated nation above surface, the Atlanteans had done thousands of years ago underwater. Making them the first highly advanced nation built on both technology and magic. The only difference was that no one alive knew the Atlantians existed since they were trapped in an endless time loop created by the time stone and a prior sorcerer supreme centuries ago.

Then Namor and his army of water walkers appeared.
Thanos returned from the prehistoric age to three years after the time that he and Shuri left the Avengers and their allies on the black order battlefield in 2019. His unexpected return was only announced by the abrupt disappearance of half of the worlds population in 2022. And then a week later, Shuri appeared along with the untimely coming of the Atlantean invaders
