Chapter 7: Excuses and Reasons-II

They both got ready in no time and hit the road. as kara can't do the flying, Oliver took her on his bike; which made kara feel sick.

"Ollie, maybe next time I should prefer to leap... or you flying with me " Kara said sitting behind of Oliver's bike
"I wished I could agree with you," Oliver said as he rides the bike, and turning his coms on, he said, "Overwatch, whats the position of the truck??"
"Hmm.. its 2 kilometers away and you need to catch up quickly" Felicity, who was on the overwatch seat that night, answered him through the coms
"Okay, copy that" Oliver replied to felicity through coms
"Kara, Hold on tightly" Oliver warned kara before he increased his riding speed

That night, Both Kara and Oliver saved the day by stopping the drug delivery and also caught the dealers and made sure that the SCPD got them.

"here walks in the heroes," Felicity said hearing the elevator's beep sound
"Good job you both" Felicity further said with a smile, and Oliver said walking to her, "You did great too!"
"Well, thank you! Oliver!" Felicity replied with a Smile
"Felicity, being so impressive and natural tonight" John who was sitting next to Felicity replied
"Oh, she is! I mean, she guides me too on my mission, most of the time" Kara said complimenting her
"I think we could really use her here," John said looking at Kara and then oliver, but oliver just stood there with a smile, as he knew that it's too dangerous to involve such a sweet girl in this dangerous crusade he set

"Well, my job here is done, I think we should be going by now," Kara said exchanging looks with felicity and than Oliver
"Oh yeah sure. Sorry for involving you in this kara" Oliver said looking at kara
"You kidding me ollie?? I had such a great time, accept riding with you on the bike... ughh that really makes me nauseous" Kara replied with excitment, by narrowing her eyes at the end
"Same thing flying does to me" oliver replied with a nod

"Well, we better take leave than" Kara begin
"Sure" Oliver replied
"And Ollie, you can come to my earth whenever you want, I mean if you want some change.. you know what I mean" Kara further added looking at oliver
"Sure. I will. thanks, kara" Oliver replied
"can we hug now??"
"Please.. come on.. we saved the day," Kara said offering oliver a hug
"Okay.. but just this time," oliver said with a half smile as he accepted kara's hug.

and opening the portal, kara said, "And ollie.. don't forget the promise"
"I won't!" Oliver replied with a smile
"Also, keep me updated," kara said further
"See you soon.. guys," Felicity said stepping into the portal

NEXT DAY

Kara was at Catco, doing little overtime as she had to submit an article before 8:00pm when Oliver came to visit her.

"Kara..." Oliver said knocking the glass door or Kara's cabin
"Hey, Oliver!" Kara said jumping out of her chair, 
"What you doing here?" she curiously inquired oliver
"I went to the DEO, and Mon-el said that I could find you here," oliver said replying to kara
"Oh yeah, I wanted to complete an article before the clock hits 8. and I can't do that at the DEO or my loft.. you know mon-el already.." kara said rolling eyes at the end
"Sure. I do" Oliver said with a smile, followed with a nod
"So, what are you doing here?" unable to find the answer to her earlier question, Kara inquired again, 
"you said that I could come here anytime if I want to.. so I just came so that we could hang out" Oliver replied 
"Oliver, really??" Kara questioned narrowing her eyes
"Coz, I know that you are not a man that like hanging out without insisting" oliver explain, but kara didn't change the way she looked at him, so he added further,
"Well, okay. you got me. I came to tell you that I and laurel talked and we are going to give another try..."
"Oh wow! that's great! see, I told you that you need to talk" kara said punching softly on Oliver's chest, "and...??"
"and.. we are going on for a dinner night tomorrow, you know starting over.." Oliver further said 
"that's great! I'm so happy for you Ollie" kara said with excitment 
"Thanks, kara, for the suggestion. I owe you one." Oliver said with a smile,
"happy to help Ollie!" Kara said smilingly
"Umm..well" Oliver looked at the watch on his hand and added, "you complete your article, and I'll make a move... sorry to crash into without notice
"Ollie, you are welcome here always and anytime! and don't worry about my article, I have the super speed you know"  Kara said smilingly, fixing her glasses
"So, see ya..." Oliver said offering kara a fist bump before he turned around and walking out
"Hey Kara, one last thing, Where is felicity??"  Oliver said turning back towards kara
"Ohh.. she will be at her loft..." Kara replied narrowing her eyes followed with a grin
"Oh okay. Thanks" Oliver said with a nod and turned back
"Hey Ollie, Oh I understand what is happening here.." Kara said naughtily teasing oliver 
"Stop it kara. you understand too much" Oliver said by not turning back and walking out of the room
"Oh yes, Super understanding you know!" Kara shouted

Oliver then grabbed some donuts on his way to Felicity's loft, as he was visiting her for the first time. He knew which was her loft, as kara already mentioned to him that she is staying next to her loft.

Standing in front of the door and taking a deep breath, He rang the doorbell, hoping that Felicity will be there.

"Coming.. wait a sec," Felicity said from inside the loft, and further attending the door, and seeing oliver standing in front of it, she said in surprise,
"Oliver! Hey.." 
"Hey.." Oliver replied back, and both were speechless for a while 
"Can I come in??" Oliver said breaking the silence
"Oh, yeah. Sure.." Felicity said stepping aside and welcoming oliver inside, "I'm so sorry... it's just I saw you here, like all of sudden" She added 
"Oh I came to see kara, so thought I might visit you as well.." Oliver explained
"and I got these for you," Oliver said offering the donuts he had got her
"oh thank you." Felicity said accepting the packet and looking into it she added, " You really didn't had to"
"well, I am not a guy who gets flowers, so I got those"  Oliver replied with a confusing look
"its okay oliver. really!" Felicity said with a smile, and placing the packet on the table, she added
"Sit, meanwhile I'll get us some plates and soda" 
"Okay," Oliver said sitting on the couch, meanwhile felicity walked to the kitchen and got the plates and grabbing the soda bottles, she walked to the sitting room where oliver was sitting, "don't mind the mess here, I would have rearranged a bit if I knew you were coming"
"Oh, it's great..." Oliver replied as felicity walked into the room
"this is really a nice place you got here.." oliver further said offering a compliment 
"Oh thanks" Felicity replied with a smile, sitting on the same couch, next to oliver, and transferring the donuts on the tray, and opening the soda bottles
"So, you stay here alone??" Oliver asked inquiring 
"Well, mom visits sometimes" Felicity replied sipping the bottle of soda

"So, hows things with you..??" Felicity asked taking a bite of the donut 
"Oh, they are kinda okay now... I shall say" Oliver replied 
"That's great" Felicity replied smilingly
"Hey, I hope you didn't mind me crashing up here without any notice," Oliver said with a nervous look
"Hey, you are welcome here anytime... I told you earlier too" Felicity replied placing a hand on Oliver's hand, to which oliver smiled and said, "Thanks... Felicity"

"can we just stop this Thanks and welcome conversation and talk something different..??" Felicity said furiously
"I mean, we met like for 4-5 times and we are still doing this talk like strangers... it's kinda weird" felicity further added.
"so, what you wanna talk about??" Oliver curiously asked sipping the bottle of soda
"Anything.." Felicity answered
"Okay, you previously asked me why I didn't want to go home??" Oliver started 
"Yeah.." Felicity replied before oliver continued further, "Well, I want to tell you the reason now... as earlier I wasn't sure I wanted to burden you with my problems"
"Oliver, feel free to talk, and you are not gonna burden me with anything," Felicity said making oliver comfortable

Oliver explained the whole Laurel and his marriage thing to Felicity, which made felicity upset to the fact that oliver has to go through so much. she was sorry for him, for his situation. and really wished that he will get all the happiness he deserves.

In that process, Oliver started to like felicity's friendship, and so did Felicity. even though he was married, he felt a rare bonding with her, that he himself was unable to understand. They promised each other that they will henceforth not hide anything from each other.
They talked and almost spent the whole evening talking about various things. Until oliver left as he had his vigilante life to live, stopping crimes.
