So now that I have told you about the beginning of the end, lets now move on. So, you're probably thinking the creatures are zombies. Well, you would be correct. Some people call them zombies, others call them walkers, and the rest call them monsters or creatures. I call them pathos. I call them that because of the story behind them. Remember on the first day how Dave said it was some pathogen that was causing this. From what I hear some scientist had created a deadly new pathogen. After they had perfected it, one of the pathos got loose.
In all of the chaos no one realized that one or a few of the vials containing the pathogen was knocked over and everyone in the room inhaled it. I'm pretty sure everyone can connect the dots and figure out what happened next. First off, I would like to know why this pathogen was created in the first place. Two, who would be stupid enough to want this created. I just hope that whoever it was got what they deserved.
Now that that's out of the way, let me get back to answering the rest of your questions. Rachel personally gave me a tour of the town. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. It was as if the beginning of the end hadn't even happened. The whole community was gated, people had jobs, everyone had a house with running water and electricity, fresh food, and a store for everything you might need.
Need food, there's a grocery store. Somehow hurt yourself, there's a hospital. You need basic everyday things, there's a store for that. Alright, I'm sure you get the point, moving on. After the tour Rachel took me to a house and told me I could use it for a few days. When Rachel went to leave I asked, "So would you mind if I restocked up on supplies?" Rachel thinks for a few seconds and then replies, "Tell you what Clarke, you go on the supplies run tomorrow, we will call it even."
I think it over and it sounds fair to me. For once I am safe, can take a shower, and restock and all I have to do is help with a supplies run. What could go wrong? "Alright" I say. "Excellent" Rachel says smiling, "I'll send someone over to make sure you're ready and explain how the supplies run works." Rachel walks off. I decide to take a shower. After I finished, there was a knock on the door. I opened it and saw a man standing there. "Clarke Smythe, I presume" the guy says. "That's me" I say, "Who are you."
"My name is Adam and Rachel sent me" Adam says, "I bet your hungry, follow me." I follow Adam as he explains how the runs work. "A group of twenty will go out together, once we reach a certain point the group will break into five groups of four. The five groups will then split up and collect supplies. The groups have three hours. If you don't return in that given time, you will be left behind" Adam says.
"Ok" I say. "Let's get you a weapon" Adam says. I follow Adam into a restricted area. "Only guards and people that do the supplies runs are allowed in here" Adam says. We walk into a room filled with weapons. "Pick the melee weapon you prefer" Adam says. After looking over everything, I settle on a machete, I think. Adam walks over to me and hands me a pistol. "For emergencies only" Adam says, "If it's not an emergency use your melee weapon." I just nod and follow Adam.
We bump into Rachel. "Adam. Clarke" Rachel says, "Are you two done here?" "Meet at the gate by six am" Adam says, "Clarke is all yours." Adam walks off. "Join me for dinner" Rachel asks. "Sure" I say. I follow Rachel back to her place. She tells me to sit while she gets dinner ready. During dinner I asks, "What is this place?" Rachel says, "New Havens." "How is this even possible" I ask.
"A few weeks after the break out, I gathered the community together and suggested we make the best of it. About a month after that first meeting, we had New Havens. Keep in mind not as good as it is now" Rachel says. "I've notice that some people call you the chosen one, what is that all about" I ask. "Because I was the one that started all of this, I became the leader and was nicknamed the chosen one" Rachel says.
"That was delicious, but I should get going" I say. "Why don't you spend the night" Rachel says. "I don't want to impose" I say. "You wouldn't be" Rachel says, "In fact I would really appreciate the company, it can get quit lonely as you know. And besides I have to send off everyone." "Ok" I say uncertainly. "Excellent" Rachel says getting up and walking into the kitchen.
She comes out a few minutes later with some wine and two glasses. She pours two glasses and offers me one. "I can't" I say. "Relax it's the end of the world" Rachel says. "That's not it" I say, "I'm going out tomorrow." "Your right" Rachel says. We end up talking for another hour, before I decide to retire for the night. "Well I should be heading off to bed" I say.
"Why don't you join me in mine" Rachel says. I asks, "Wh-" I get interrupted when I feel Rachel's lips on mine. I gently push her away. She just looks at me. "Look" I say, "You are pretty, but please don't take this the wrong way, you're not my type." We just look at each other as an awkward silence fills the room. "I should get going, I have to wake up early" I say and walk out.
