Lin didn't really care for children until she became close to Tenzin's children. Lin arrived early though to help prepare for Rohan's sixth birthday. "I'm getting old," Lin mumbled under her breath as she walked off the ferry unto the dock.
As she got closer to the Air Temple she saw the birthday boy, Rohan sitting with Naga and Oogie in the stables staring at some book.
"What is the birthday boy doing sitting out here all by himself?" Lin asked with a raised eyebrow and a small smile on her face.
Rohan looked up and smiled at his Aunt Lin, "You know a lot of people think you're scary aunt Lin, but I think you're tougher than a platypus bear!" Rohan said with the biggest grin on his face.
"Thanks, kid, but I'll never be as tough as Avatar Kyoshi or my own mom," Lin said with a grin, she sat down beside him letting out a loud groan from a long day at work. "What book are you reading Rohan?"
The little boy held the book up above his head and spoke excitedly, "I CANNOT READ BUT THIS IS...." he quickly jumped in his aunt's lap and signaled for her to come closer. Lin leaned closer and Rohan cupped his small hands against her ear and whispered, "The Princess of the Southern Air Temple."
When he pulled away Lin could swear she could see his eyes glowing with happiness. "A princess story? Huh. That's pretty cool." She flipped through the book and came across a page with a folded corner. "I'll make a deal with you Rohan." She said as she picked up the five-year-old so they could see each other eye to eye. "I could read you this story.....or...I could tell you about the time I destroyed Air Temple Island after your dad broke up with me. Your choice."
Rohan just went limp in Lin's arms looking up at the ceiling of the stable. He opened his mouth as wide as he possibly could and just began to yell, "WOW YOU DATED MY DAD?! AND NOW YOU LIKE MY AUNT KYA, RIGHTTT? KINDA LIKE KORRA AND ASAMI!"
Lin's face went white.
Lin spoke in a whisper that could cut steel, "Rohan. Please. Shut. Your. Mouth." Her left eye twitched.
Rohan giggled, "Please tell me the story!"
Lin took a deep breath in and let it out with a loud sigh, "Alright, alright. Once upon a time, I was 16."

(Lin's POV)Tenzin and I have been dating for a whole year now. I can't wait to celebrate with him and I already know he has something planned for our special occasion. When I got off the ferry I saw Tenzin standing at the dock waiting for me.
I ran towards him but he didn't smile or held out his arms for a hug and that's when I realized something was wrong. "What's wrong?" I asked as my run came to a stop right in front of him. He looked down at me with a tight face and tried to hide his emotions,
"...Lin...I think you and I should break up." He let out a huge sigh of relief.

"The end that's the story of me and your dad," Lin said standing up.
Rohan stood there with his mouth hanging open. "NO WAY THERE HAS TO BE MORE! WHAT KIND OF STORY IS THAT? WHERE'S THE ACTION?" Rohan hung onto Lin's legs forcing her to drag him along with her.
Lin just glared down at her leg, "I destroyed Air Temple Island. Your dad was so scared he even cried." Lin said with a smug smile.

I clenched my fists and words came flying out of my mouth, "OH NOW YOU'RE FINALLY MAN ENOUGH TO DO SOMETHING FOR YOURSELF!" I slammed my fist down and two sharp edges of earth came out of the ocean.
Tenzin tensed up as he looked down and saw the sharp edges pointing at both sides of his neck. He took a big gulp and tried to calm me down. "Lin please let me explain!"
Before he could say anything else I took off and let my emotions take over. That's when I learned to never bend with your emotions. Everything was a blur. Before I knew it Air Temple Island was a mess and there were pieces of earth sticking up.
I turned around to see Tenzin in tears. Kya and Bumi were making fun of Tenzin and were on the ground laughing because they knew Tenzin would be in a lot of trouble.

"Ya know what kid?" Lin said as she looked down at Rohan who was still hanging onto her leg. "I was a terrible girlfriend I don't know how your dad stayed with me for that long."
Rohan just shrugged, "My dad is a weird guy, he tries way too hard to be calm. He even tries to be cool! It never works though. I still love him though!" Rohan just looked up at Lin and smiled.
Lin picked Rohan up and started walking towards the temple. "You know Korra trashed the island too after Mako broke up with her. But that was nothing compared to what I did."
"Trust me Lin beats me by a landslide."
Lin turned around with Rohan in her arms to see Korra behind them. She was holding hands with Asami and they both smiled at Lin and Rohan.
