Cara
Monday March 11, 2013.
A few weeks later once I was feeling like my own self again, I goggles his mother's name. What I found was not pretty. Thank goodness Tony was at work.
An online article I read stated that Mr. And Mrs. Anthony and Amelia Calvano had been involved in a one car crash incident around 3am Saturday June 20, 1998 on route 6a in Cape Cod. Upon arrival at the site of the crash paramedics found the Calvanos car smashed into a tree. Mrs. Amelia Calvano was behind the wheel of the car with multiple lacerations and blunt force trauma, Mr. Anthony Calvano was in the passenger seat without a seat belt on. His body was laying closer to his wife's body, his head was smashed into the dashboard and he had a Smith and Wesson revolver in his hand. Their bodies were taken to the chief medical examiners office for autopsy.
Autopsy result show that the lacerations on Mrs. Calvano were older due to physical abuse. What killed her was a gun shot wound to her liver. The bullet ruptured her liver, killing her instantly. Mr. Calvanos blood alcohol level was way above the legal limit.
They ruled her death a homicide and his accidental.
I found another article a ways down that read Boston business tycoon arrested for domestic assault. The article was from six years prior. Tony would've been around 15 years old. He must've witnessed his mother's abuse. Was he abused also? I wondered. There was a photo of the couple from a business dinner in 1989. They looked happy. They were a very good looking couple. Tony resembled his father a lot.Amelia was waking up. I shut the laptop and went to feed and change her.
The visions I had of the wreckage disturbed my mind. I wondered what went through Tony's mother's mind when it was happening. Did she know she was going to die that night? I felt bad for Tony, but also scared of him. How was I going to find out without asking him? I'm sure if I asked him, I would be in a world of pain.
It's best not to stir the pot.~~~
Tony
"Man you look tired. How's Amelia?" Eric asked me as I sat with a coffee in the conference room.
"Oh hey." I said looking up. "She's great. Gets up sometimes in the middle of the night but that's normal. So how are things with you and Hilary?"
"Hilary is such a great person. Very creative. I like her, a lot."
"Does she ever say anything about me? She seems cold when we're together." I said furrowing my brow.
Eric soon his head. "No. We don't talk about you in particular."
"I dunno man. I'm just tired."
"Why don't you just go home and take it easy. Go spend time with your wife and child. Robert would understand."
"I guess so." I stood up and tossed the coffee into the trash on my way out of the room.
I grabbed my jacket and headed for the door. The rain had started and it was coming down steadily. I sighed and ran for my car clicking the lock open on my way.
I took my phone out once I got into the car and found Cara. I was going to call her and let her know I was on my way home now, but decided against it.
I'll surprise her.
The drive home took about 15 minutes longer than usual due to the rain, but I made it.
The inside of the house was quiet. Cara was not downstairs. She must be with Amelia. I took of my wet jacket and hung it up. Cara's laptop was on the ottoman and not in the office. On my way to put it back, I opened it to see what she was working on.
What I saw infuriated me. She wasn't working. She was invading. I slammed the laptop down that the screen cracked. I yelled for her. Taking the stairs two at a time I found her in the nursery. She was holding Amelia in her arms. She looked worried.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"Put her down. Now."
She held her tighter. "God please. No. Don't do this Tony."
I balled my fists and held them up.
"I said put her down!"
Cara slowly put Amelia in her crib. I gripped her by her hair and pulled her out of the room. I then threw her on the hallway floor. I kicked her. She grabbed her stomach.
"Why?" She asked.
I got down on the floor and held her.
"Why would you look into my past? You have no right." I punched her in the face then stood up.
She spit out blood and cried.
"Tony stop. Please. Just stop this." She pled.
"So now you know. Yes my father was an abusive fuck who killed my mother. The only good thing in my life. Am I my father? Is that what you want to find out?" I screamed as I kicked her again.
Amelia cried.
My anger was hot and I stormed off to my baby.
"Daddys here princess."
Cara came crawling through the door.
"Tony please don't hurt her."
I turned to her and cocked my head.
"What kind of monster do you think I am?"~~~
Cara
Tony left the house after he hurt me. I looked in the crib and sighed. Thank god Amelia was still here. She was asleep. I slowly made my way to the bedroom and cleaned up.
My abdomen hurt like hell it was bruised in two places. My cheek was swollen and my lip was split. I looked like I just got out of a boxing ring.
I had to get help. I had to go. I love Tony but I can't do this to my baby girl. I can't be with him anymore.
I called Hilary. I told her everything. I'm done with Tony. She came over right away. She said she didn't care if Tony knew that she knew. The cops would be handling him if he touched me, the baby or her.
Hilary helped me pack bags.
She said. "You need to go to your parents."
As I gathered what I needed and what Amelia needed I strapped Amelia into her car seat as Hilary carried our bags. Once we reached the bottom of the stairs the door opened. Tony staggered in. Drunk.
"What the fuck is this shit?" He spat out.
"I will call the cops. Move." Hilary said as she pulled out her phone. Tony stared at me as he stepped aside. As I was walking by with Amelia he grabbed my arm. "This is far from over." He threatened.
