"They're here," he said.

I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as nervousness begins to advance throughout my body. I guess Cronan could sense my anxiety. He grabbed my shoulders and made his eyes level with mine, "it's going to be okay," he reassured me.

"What if something happens-" I start to question.

"Nothing will happen to me or to you, I promise. Now, let's get in our places."

I give Cronan a small hug before heading to my hiding place behind his throne. I turn around and see Cronan's almost inside the castle.

"Cronan!" I yell not exactly sure what I'm doing. He stops and looks at me. "I love you."

I could see a small smile creep across his face, "I love you too."

I skip to my new hiding place behind Cronans used to be throne and sit down. I look up at Emily and see she is giving me a thumbs up, I give her one too. Not much longer I hear voices coming towards the courtyard.

The Elves, Rosalyn, and Sophie come into view. I see that Sophie has the amulet around her neck. I stand, unnoticed, and start to walk over to them.

"Emily!" Sophie screamed at her sister.

"Hey Sophie you forgot me." I told her acting like I cared.

"Y/N, your safe," Azari sighed with relief.

"Oh no look at her outfit," Aira pointed out. I smiled and put my hands on my hips.

"Don't tell me... your on his side?" Farren chimed in.

"What can I say, I know him better than you all." Which was true none of them knew him as well as I did.

"Where is he any-" Naida tried to ask.

"Guys! Look out," Emily interrupted, "the Goblin King is-"

"Right here." Everyone gasped and looked up to Cronan who was standing on the roof of the castle. "Naida, my sweet. I take it your return means you've brought me the Earth amulet?"

"I told you before, all I can offer you is my friendship. Which I gladly give."

"Hey, we all do. Trust me, using dark magic to fix your problems is only going to make things way worse." Azari stepped in.

"You can't get over losing someone you love by hurting other people!" Aira yelled.

"Oh, really? And what do you know about loss?" Cronan snapped at all of them.

"Cronan! I know it's hard for you," I tell him, "but I know how you feel. And I know Emily and Sophie do too."

"And so do we," Farren continued. "We were there when Ashwing attacked Rosalyn. Her last words were to say she forgives you."

"Rosalyn? Oh, no... Is she..." Cronan trails off not wanting to finish the sentence. The elves and Sophie all nod.

"So just let my sister go, okay? Haven't you caused enough pain?"

As Sophie speaks I look behind me and see the Shadow Beast appear, all of a sudden I feel worried again.

"No! Behind you!" Emily screams.

I duck out of the way as the Shadow Beast growls and storms towards the elves, grabbing them, and lifting them off the courtyard floor. A pink glow starts to form around them as the creature sucks the energy out of them.

"Our bargain is complete. Do it!" The creature rasps.

"All right, I'll do it," Cronan leaps off the roof of the castle while using his magic to rip the amulet from Sophie's neck. He lands on the other side of the Shadow Beast and I run over to him.
