Hey Lucinda here. I hope you all enjoyed the last chapter and hopefully this chapter answers some of your questions.

Charlotte's POV

The next morning was like every other, I took a shower, brushed my teeth and hair; not being bothered to try and tie it up. Covering the bruise on my face I tried to make it look as normal as possible before putting on a baggy hoody that I had stolen from Jordan before he left. It still smelt like him which was a great comfort because I had to go back today and face Mr Rivers.

Leaving the house I grabbed my keys and school bag. As I was driving to school my stomach was in knots more and more formed as I got closer to school. Walking into main block it was dead silent.

Wondering to my locker I felt like I was being watched. Quickly putting stuff in my locker and grabbing books for class I went to the spot I most felt safe, the courtyard. Although when I got there it felt cold, memories of yesterday flashed by. It felt as though I was watching it play out.

FLASHBACK

*Charlotte's is under the tree crying her hood covering her face but her body was slightly shaking.

'Are you Okay' Mr Rivers was trying to look Charlotte's face looking up his faced drained of colour.

'Charlotte's what's wrong' He seemed genuinely concerned but all Charlotte said no emotion crossing her face 'I'm Fine'.

Mr Rivers pushed the matter further 'Charlotte I want to help' he moved slightly closer.

Charlotte's eyes filled with anger 'Well I don't need it!' She started storming off when Mr Rivers grabbed her arm.

'Charlotte I just want to help' Mr Rivers growled but when he saw Charlotte's reaction his face softened.

The anger that had been brewing in her eyes had been replaced with fear, her breathing quickened. 'Charlotte it' okay I just want to help', Charlotte's eyes moved from his face to his arm he got the hint and let go.

Not a second to lose Charlotte Sprinted away into main block. Mr Rivers retreating figure entered main block his shoulders low and his face filled with sorrow.

FLASHBACK END

Had I really acted that harshly to him? He was only trying to help and I snapped at him. I can't let anyone in not since Mom left, I couldn't make friends because I always thought they would be ripped away from me too.

I sat under the tree, opening up my music journal to continue the song I had been working on. The song was called "Shattered hope" it was based on my future because all hope had gone completely. Just an empty shell of the person I used to be.

The bell rung and it was time. Time to face the man whose hope I broke and care I trashed. Walking into Mr River's class I was slightly early and no one was in there so I just sat at my desk in the far corner just hoping to blend into the wall or disappear completely.

When class was meant to start I noticed he still wasn't here, late maybe I thought but I looked towards the door as it closed a small older woman entered the room. She wrote her name on the board Mrs Pall.

'Hello seniors I'm your reliever for today but your teacher is at school and may come in out to collect you'. Mrs Pall told us we had free time and we could do what we wanted as long as it had something to do with music.

Flipping open my Music Journal I continued what I was doing this morning, placing my headphones over my ears I decided to listen to some rock music. This was definitely a bad choice, since I couldn't hear anything going on around me.
