Third Person P.O.V
Lee sits in the back of the silent cop car, looking out the window. Two other cop cars went by. The officer looks at Lee through the rear view mirror. Lee looks back. "You're not like the others." "You don't say." Lee says, still looking out the window. The radio came on. The officer let it talk for a few seconds then he shut it off. "God damn teenagers. Messing around. Greg better teach his son a lesson when he's messing with the radio." He whispered to himself. "There was this one guy, he was screaming, squirming and kicking the back seat like, like a fussy baby. He screams, it wasn't me! I'm innocent! I told him if he didn't stop I would have to zap em. He stopped, but he started talking to his mother. "I'm telling you mama, it wasn't me!" Damn, I think he believed it himself."
Lee raised his eyebrows. "Maybe he was innocent." The officer laughs. "His buddy called the police on em, they burst through the door to find him choppin up his wife. The friend stood there with his finger cut off."
Lee sighed. "Damn." The officer shook his head. 4 cop cars, 1 helicopter and 3 ambulances went by, sirens on. The radio went on again. The officer turned it off. Lee seemed surprised. "Doesn't that mean anything to you? Ain't it important?" The officer nodded. "It's all important. Just that Fred never shuts the fuck up. It's annoying." Lee looked back out the window. "You seem harmless. You didn't mean to, you said?" He didn't want to talk about it, but he guessed he didn't have a choice. "Yeah." He chuckled. "Looks like you married the wrong woman." He was going to reply, but was too pissed. "Oh, I have another good one for ya-" There was someone on the road. "OH SHIT-"
The officer jerked the steering wheel to the right, right into the ditch then into the woods, tumbling fast as ever. Then everything went black.
Lee tried opening his eyes when they hit the ground, but all he heard was faint screams and growling. Once he heard the gunshot, everything went dark again.
Lee's P.O.V
I woke up, completely this time. The birds chirped, uncontrollably. I tried to move but a pierce of pain went through my leg. "Aghh!" I screamed.
I was still in my cuffs, and my wrists felt whipped. The window was cracked, so I tried to kick it open. It broke into pieces and I climbed out. I tried to walk but my leg almost gave out. I pulled myself against the car and looked for the officer. He was laying down on the ground, with a trail of blood leading to his pale body. His shot gun laid on the ground beside the car. I slowly walked over to him. "Officer? Are you alright? God damn.." He had the keys near his face.
I took a deep breath and quickly took the keys. I tried to unlock one of the cuffs, but I dropped them again. I picked them up, slower this time.
I unlocked both of them. My wrists were burning like hell. Then the officer moved. He jumped up at me. I moved back until I hit the back of the car. I was sitting and couldn't stand. He was growling, bloody and wasn't acting human. "Officer!? What the hell? Are you alright??" Then I noticed the shot gun beside me. I
picked it up and saw a bullet there as well. I picked it up and tried to load it. It fell. I picked it up again. The officer was really close, and he didn't stop. I pointed the gun. "Don't make me do this!!" I couldn't risk it. I pulled the trigger. I was out of breath and my leg wasn't doing any better. There was growling and moaning coming from the forest. People came out, they looked exactly how the officer looked when he got all weird. I got up painfully and started limping. More and more came pouring out of the forest. I walked faster, when I got to a fence. I tried to climb it, and I got over. I landed on my back. They were pounding on the fence. A gunshot happened, and it sounded like they went away. What were those things? What did they want? I found myself in a backyard, with a big tree house. The ladder was broken and there was no sound coming from up there. "Hello? Is there anyone there?" No respond. I walk on the deck and look in the sliding glass door. I knock a couple times. "Is anyone here? I need some help. I'm not armed." No one was there. "I'm coming in. Don't shoot." The place was a total mess, with blood on the floor. There was a beeping sound, coming from a recorder. There was 3 new messages. "Message 1 left at 2:25pm;""Hey Sandra, it's me, Danielle. Listen, Todd got in a fight with some guy around the back of the hotel and had to get himself checked out. Anyways he's not feeling well to drive back tonight, so we'll be here for a little while longer until he's well enough to go. Don't worry, we'll be back before your spring break!" "Message two left at 5:32 am;" "Oh my god, fianlly! I don't know if you're getting the calls or anything, but their not letting us leave Savannah! They said there's... monsters or something which is stupid. Just, please, take Clementine and get out of the city!" "Message 3 left at 12 am;" "Clementine...Baby... if you're listening, call the police... that's 9..1..1... I love you... we love you... we love y-"
Damn. That's really sad. Where was the girl? I walked into the kitchen and looked through the drawers. There was a walkie talkie. I tried speaking in it. "Hello? Is anyone there?" Someone picked up. "Daddy?" I paused. "Im not your dad. Who are you?" The child paused. "You're not a monster, right?"
"No, I'm not, I'm a good guy. What's your name." "I'm Clementine. What's yours?" "I'm Lee. How old are you?" "I'm 8. How old are you?" "Uhhh I'm 37. You're all by yourself?" She sighed. "Yeah my parents went to Savannah for a trip and left me with Sandra." "Where are you?" "I'm in the tree house. Can you see me? Through the window!"I looked out to see a little girl waving at me from the tree house. I waved back. Her expression changed to fear and she went back in. "Behind you!" I turned around and on of those things were on me. I hit it in the head with the walkie talkie. I slipped on the blood and hit my head. I kicked in the throat and managed to crawl to the screen door. Clementine gave me a hammer. I turned it over and took out its head. "Are you okay? Is it dead?" The young girl asked. "I'm fine, and yes, it's dead." She looked down. "I want my parents to come home now." I looked at the thing. "I think that might be a while. Don't you think?" "Oh." "For now, I'll stick with you. Protect you." She nodded. "What should we do?" I thought for a moment. "We should leave before sunset." She turned around. "Yeah, it's not safe at night." She took my hand. I smiled. "Let's go."
