Kayleigh POV

Clarke wasn't the only one Lexa decided to set free before the summit. I had been silently stalking the banished Prince when he had found Clarke. From the shadows I watched as he stepped to Clarke's side, looking over the capital.

''Well if it isn't the Prince of Azgeda.'' Clarke sneered at the man stood beside her.

''Don't be fooled.'' He says with a deep slightly raspy voice. ''I'm a prisoner here same as you.''

I silently scoff inside my head.

''You're the reason I'm a prisoner here.''

''Relax Wanheda. I'm here to help.''

''Sure you are.'' I think to myself as Clarke echos the same words out loud.

''Commander promised to lift my banishment if I delivered you safely. She broke our deal.'' Roan says with a shrug of his big shoulders. ''I'm willing to strike a new one with you so we both can go home.''

''I'm already going home.''Clarke deadpans.

''Then you won't have a chance to get what you really want.''

''What would you know about what I want?'' Clarke asks him curiously.

''I saw the look on your face when I took the hood off,'' He says moving in closer. ''You want revenge.''

''You want to kill her. So kill her.''

''You can get close. I can't.'' he presses, and I can tell from the look on Clarke's face she's actually considering it.

''You'll find a knife under your bed when you return to your room. I've already bought enough of the guards to get you out of here. If you do this, Azgeda will take control of the coalition, and you'll find a strong and grateful ally in the Ice Queen.''

I slip away, no longer waiting to listen for Clarke's answer. I had questioned Clarke's judgement before, but this.. Just how stupid can she be for even considering what Roan had to offer? Let alone believe Ice Nation would simply leave any of us be.

No.. This wasn't going to happen. I was half way to Clarke's chambers when Asher caught up with me.

''What are we going to do?''

''You know which guards he was speaking of don't you?'' I don't bother waiting for him to respond, already knowing what the answer would be. ''Find them, bring them to me.''

Asher tilt his head eyeing me critically. ''And you?''

''I'm going to make sure Blondie doesn't get everyone else killed.''

Third Person POV

After a while Clarke did go back to her room. As soon as the door clicked shut behind her she made a beeline for the bed. Hastily she puts her hands under the mattress. Not feeling what she was searching for she lifts the mattress up, and sees there nothing there.

''Looking for this?'' a voice calls out from behind her.

Clarke instantly stills, breath caught in her throat, eyes widening, she slowly lowered the bed back down and rose to her feet. Leaning casually against the wall, half in shadow, half in light, Kayleigh slowly twirled a knife in her hands.

''Kayleigh, I.. What?'' Clarke shudders out.

''When I came here earlier to talk with you I had hoped you would listen.. Thought maybe, just maybe you could put aside your hate, and do the best thing for everyone.''
