Chapter 9: The New World

Planker's POV

All we could do was gaze at the new world we had just seen a blood red sky and a barren world that looked like a mix between middle earth and fallout 3. As we were in a our gaze we heard rocks fall to our right me and Jake both looked right and both stumbled backwards. It was Rick, just standing there hood over his head with a skull bandana over his mouth. He looked at us and slowly walked forward and took his mask and hood off and got within arms reach of us. He reached out his human arm and put it on Jake's shoulder and said

"Sorry for fucking you up so badly i had to make Emily believe i was still on her side, you see i never broke. I wouldn't give in and hunt you guys down willingly, so i was put in a ritual circle surrounded by Emily, Aria, and the Scp. They cast a ritual spell on me and i was at Emily's command but she wasn't stupid enough to trust just the spell, so she kept the eye connected to her supervisors systems and the shocking systems in my body." Jake hugged Rick and said,

"Im glad your back". Rick pushed him off and said,

"Jake your more powerful then you could ever imagine. You're a false God now but sense you have a human body, you can't control it without losing your sanity." Jake stepped back and said,

"So how do i control it"

"Well the more you let go the more power you'll have so it will come with practice but make sure you dont kill your friends" I looked at Rick and said,

"Wait. if Emily is still connected to you, then how are you talking to us without her knowing?" Rick smirked a bit and said,

"Well when "inexperienced" here let out his blast, he fried their systems temporarily and its gonna take them longer to get everything up and running sense earth went to hell"

I had so many questions but i knew Rick didn't have time to answer them all so i said,

"So how do we get out of here"

Rick pointed to the bottom of the mountain we were on and said,

"You'll be supplied with horses and supplies. You'll head east towards Alaska, its still cold there so there is Jackets and warm clothes in the saddle bags and since the world is a barren wasteland, the water levels arent as high so as long as you make the trip on horse youll get to Alaska and be back in America."

"Thank you Rick, its good to have you back on our side"

"Yeah its not just me, everyone in my branch of Emily's army is on our side"

We smiled and got down the hill and mounted our horses, but before we left, Rick's soldiers gave us both weapons Jake took the crossbow and i took the short sword and we headed off due east.

Jake's POV

This new world was hot and dry and there wasnt many trees where we were but that was probably to be expected considering it seems whatever happened to Earth, Emily's area got hit pretty bad considering the fact that there seemed to be coolen off molten lava as the ground. Planker wanted to stop at a small house we saw for the night to catch our breath. We hitched our horses and headed inside. The door was locked so Planker kicked the door in and i slowly followed inside Planker said,

"Hell yeah"

He found a old weapon stash well it wasnt much of a stash because all it was, was just a dragonov and a pumpaction shot gun with some half decent ammo. Planker said as he cleaned his gun,

"Jake, we arent always gonna be able to rely on your new powers, so i'm gonna teach you how to both shoot and how to fight, sure its gonna be some half assed hillbilly training and not some spec ops shit but at least you'll be trained and not the burden you have been".

I felt a strong pain across my face and fell to the floor as Planker got up I realized one of Rick's soldiers was behind me with two buckler shields in her hands. Planker said

"Rick pulled me aside and told me to and ordered her with us, she's a lower ranked one so Emily won't notice that she's gone". Planker walked out of the room and said,

"She's a low rank. she's practically a civilian, lets just hope you make it"

he closed and locked the door on his way out and I got up and looked at the girl. She was more on the fit side. she was in shape and seemed kinda nervous. she was in leather armour and as i was about to make a move, but she had already put me on my ass again with another right cross with the buckler and she said,

"You really think Emily is gonna go down with just some powers of yours shes the reason the world is like this dumbass. now get up and fight!"

I got up and swung, but she dodged and hit me in my side. i stumbled backwards holding my stomach as she uppercut me and once, i fell she said

"They arent gonna give you a break. The lycans would've already clawed you to pieces by now and you'd be dead if you were facing Emily or Aria".

She climbed on top of me and started beating my face in. i felt the blood moving down my face and I put my hands up knowing i had to defend myself. (She was pretty cute in my opinion)

Planker's POV

I was waiting outside keeping watch. Then i heard Jakes screams of pain and the sounds of his head hitting the wood of the house. but eventually i heard the banging stop, and then a Knock on the door behind me. I unlocked it expecting Rick's soldier but it was Jake. He looked at me with blood on his face and said,

"So this is the new world, huh?"
